NFL Week 12 Predictions: Best Picks Against the Spread

Here’s a quick look at all the Week 12 matchups with Sports Interaction’s Week 12 NFL odds. Games Sunday unless noted.

NFL Week 12 Betting Odds

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans, Thursday

Important game in the AFC South, which has been won by one of these two teams every year this decade but in 2017 (Jacksonville). Indy goes for the season sweep as it prevailed 30-23 at home in Week 7. Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett (326 yards, four touchdowns) vastly outplayed much more heralded counterpart Deshaun Watson (308 yards, one TD, two interceptions). Watson comes off a rare bad game in a blowout loss to Baltimore, while the Colts beat the Jaguars but lost top running back Marlon Mack to a fractured hand.

Point spread: Texans -4

Pick ATS: Houston

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons

Two NFC South teams playing out the string in their first meeting of the season. Tampa Bay was a 34-17 home loser to New Orleans on Sunday. Jameis Winston’s turnover problems returned with four interceptions. He also fumbled once, but the Bucs recovered it. The Falcons have looked like a different team (i.e. much better) since coming out of their Week 9 bye, winning in upsets at New Orleans and then Sunday at Carolina.

Point spread: Falcons -4

Pick ATS: Atlanta

Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills

This could be ugly offensively as both are usually ugly on that side of the ball but very good on defence. Denver blew a 20-0 halftime lead Sunday at Minnesota and lost 27-23. It was the first time in five years — a span of 100 games including the playoffs — that an NFL team lost when leading by 20 or more points at halftime. Buffalo was a 37-20 winner in Miami. Josh Allen tied a career high with three TD passes and rushed for another.

Point spread: Bills -4.5

Pick ATS: Buffalo

New York Giants at Chicago Bears

The Giants come out of their bye week on a six-game losing streak but with rookie quarterback Daniel Jones at least showing some promise. He turns the ball over way too much but already has two games with four touchdown passes. Chicago’s playoff hopes vanished with a 17-7 loss at the Rams as struggling starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was pulled late. The Bears said it was for injury reasons but not everyone believes that to be true.

Point spread: Bears -6.5

Pick ATS: NY Giants

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals

Is this the week the Bengals get their first victory? Not likely. Pittsburgh is on extra rest after losing 21-7 last Thursday in Cleveland to end a four-game winning streak, while Cincinnati went to Oakland on Sunday and lost 17-10. Pittsburgh had no trouble beating the Bengals 27-3 in Week 4. Cincinnati had 175 total yards and turned it over twice. Bengals QB Andy Dalton, no longer starting, was sacked eight times.

Point spread: Steelers -7

Pick ATS: Pittsburgh

Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns

Cleveland kept its playoff hopes alive with a 21-7 home win over Pittsburgh last Thursday night but that was costly because Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett ripped the helmet off Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph and hit him over the head with it in a stunning display of stupidity. Garrett, the former No. 1 overall pick, has been suspended the rest of this season (pending appeal, which he likely won’t win). Big loss. Miami’s two-game winning streak ended in a 17-point home loss to Buffalo.

Point spread: Browns -11

Pick ATS: Miami

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

First meeting between NFC South rivals. Carolina is fading, losing for the third time in four games Sunday, 29-3 at home to Atlanta. Kyle Allen really struggled with four interceptions. Christian McCaffrey had another 191 yards from scrimmage. New Orleans won 34-17 at Tampa Bay thanks to four interceptions of Jameis Winston. Drew Brees threw for 228 yards and three scores. Michael Thomas became the first player in league history with 90-plus catches in the first 10 games of a season.

Point spread: Saints -10.5

Pick ATS: New Orleans

Oakland Raiders at New York Jets

Oakland won its third in a row Sunday, all at home, 17-10 over Cincinnati. NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year favourite Josh Jacobs had another big game with 112 yards on 23 carries. Maxx Crosby had four seconds, a team record for a rookie. The Jets won their second in a row, 34-17 at Washington. Sam Darnold threw for a career-high four touchdowns.

Point spread: Raiders -3

Pick ATS: NY Jets

Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles

Could be an NFC playoff preview and was flexed “out” of the Sunday night game. The Seahawks are off their bye week with Russell Wilson a leading MVP candidate. They upset the previously unbeaten 49ers in Week 10 to improve to 5-0 on the road. Philly had a two-game winning streak snapped in a 17-10 home loss to the Patriots. The Eagles were up 10-0 about midway through the second quarter.

Point spread: Eagles -2

Pick ATS: Philadelphia

Detroit Lions at Washington Redskins

Will Detroit have starting quarterback Matthew Stafford? He has missed the past two games with a back injury. The Lions have lost three in a row overall. Washington lost its fourth straight Sunday, 34-17 vs. the Jets. Rookie QB Dwayne Haskins threw for 214 yards and two scores in his second start. Washington set a franchise record by going 16 consecutive quarters without a touchdown before Derrius Guice scored on a screen pass early in the fourth.

Point spread: Lions -3.5

Pick ATS: Washington

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans

The Titans are off a bye week, while the Jaguars switched back to Nick Foles at quarterback and it didn’t go very well in a 33-13 loss at the Colts. Jacksonville goes for the season sweep of its AFC South rival as the Jags were 20-7 home winners on a Thursday night in Week 3. Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota was sacked nine times, but he’s now longer starting. Gardner Minshew threw for 204 yards and two scores for the Jags, but he’s no longer starting, either.

Point spread: Titans -3

Pick ATS: Tennessee

Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots

These are the NFL’s two most popular teams, and if they met in the Super Bowl it would shatter records in terms of television ratings and betting handle. Quite likely this is the most-wagered game of the regular season at Sports Interaction. Both won on the road Sunday, Dallas in Detroit and New England in Philadelphia.

Point spread: Patriots -6

Pick ATS: New England

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers

This game was flexed into the Sunday night window with the Packers and 49ers leading their respective divisions and battling for the top seed in the NFC (with a couple of other teams). The winner earns a crucial head-to-head tiebreaker. This will especially meaningful for Green Bay star quarterback Aaron Rodgers as he grew up not far from San Francisco as a 49ers/Joe Montana fan. The Packers come off their bye, while the Niners beat Arizona on Sunday.

Point spread: 49ers -3

Pick ATS: San Francisco

Baltimore Ravens at Los Angeles Rams, Monday

First-ever meeting between the Ravens and Los Angeles version of the Rams as the teams haven’t played since 2015 when the Rams were still in St. Louis. Baltimore won its sixth in a row Sunday, trashing a good Houston team 41-7 behind four touchdown passes from MVP candidate Lamar Jackson. L.A. was a 17-7 home winner over the Bears despite only 283 yards.

Point spread: Ravens -3.5

Pick ATS: Los Angeles
