NFL Week 12 Monday Morning GIF BLITZ!
Week 12, blah blah. Touchdowns, yawn. Close games, snooze. Did you see New York Giants rookie receiver Odell Beckham’s catch against the Cowboys? There really isn’t much else to talk about aside from that. All of the other teams played and stuff but THAT CATCH? Oh, and here are the odds for the upcoming week’s NFL games!
Here are the gifs for this week. HINT: Beckham’s catch is included:
The Dolphins have been playing their best football in the last few weeks and needed every bit of good play against the Broncos. A costly Tannehill interception that led to a Broncos touchdown put the game just out of reach as Denver won 36-39. Here’s Dolphins kicker Sturgis Rabona attempting a trick offside kick as a last ditch effort to get the ball back with 1:30 left to play.
Offside kick execution: fail. Square Dance do-si-do execution: pass.
The Titans are 2-9 on the season and haven’t had much reason to celebrate. They played Philadelphia and were again beaten 24-43 but were able to find some joy in the game. Here’s Chance Warmack doing a little ring-around-the-rosey touchdown dance in the face of the Philadelphia defense.
Warmack seems to have forgotten what comes after Y in the Village People’s YMCA.
This gif is the perfect summation of the Lions last two games, which featured a total of zero touchdowns combined. Lions receivers and tight ends dropped several potential touchdown passes against the Patriots in a 9-34 loss. You aren’t going to keep up with Tom Brady if you aren’t scoring touchdowns.
In Corey Fuller’s defense, Matt Stafford threw a completely accurate ball. Wait.
Colts receiver TY Hilton became a dad the night before they played the Jaguars and promised his new daughter he’d score a touchdown for her. He lived up to his promise by catching this 73 yard pass for a score and celebrating accordingly. The Colts went on to beat the Jaguars 3-23.
Someone get that ball a binky, ASAP!
The Bears won their first game at Soldier field last week and continued the home advantage this week against the struggling Buccaneers, winning 13-21. The Chicago defense had an easier time containing the struggling Tampa Bay offense, but not on Josh McCown’s threaded pass, which appears to be intercepted by the Bears’ Jon Bostin, but is instead caught by the Bucs’ Mike Evans for a completion.
McCown has thrown so many interceptions this year, even his completions are starting to look like turnovers.
San Francisco needed every second to beat Washington yesterday, who went up by a field goal late in the fourth quarter. The 49ers went for it on fourth down after Washington successfully won a challenge that erased what would have been a 49ers first down. The result was a 29-yard laser from Kaepernick to Boldin, followed by a crushing hit, that would set San Fran up for the game winning touchdown for a final score of 13-17.
Can you flag the receiver for unnecessary roughness on a defensive player? Boldin smash!
Before the Bronco’s sealed the win on a turnover turned touchdown against the Dolphins, Denver kicker Brandon McManus missed a 33-yard chip shot that would have put Broncos within a point of Miami. Denver ended up winning 36-39 anyway, but not before some dramatics from Manny Ramirez and Demaryius Thomas.
I predict an atomic wedgie for McManus in the near future.
The NFC South is REALLY bad this year. Just how bad? The best team in the division currently has a record of 4-6. Here’s Atlanta Falcons’ Matt Ryan doing his best to conform to NFC South standards by evading Cleveland’s Paul Kruger only to run into him again for the sack. Cleveland managed to win the game 26-24 on a last second field goal.
On one hand, this encapsulates the Falcons season perfectly. On the other hand, needing two attempts per play to sack the quarterback also encapsulates a Cleveland sports team perfectly.
The Packers’ torrid offense pace slowed a bit this week going up against a stout Minnesota defense. This may have been one of the few defensive lapses the Vikings allowed as Aaron Rodgers pulled off a crazy backfoot, across the body…and field touchdown pass to tight end Richard Rodgers. The Packers won a close one 24-21.
Just like the coach drew it up. Yep, no improvising here.
The Giants have not been a very good team this year but fought tooth and nail against the NFC East rivals, Dallas. Among the several highlights of the game, rookie receiver Odell Beckham Jr. made what could arguably be the best catch for a touchdown in recent NFL history. Despite this indefensible catch, the Cowboys were able to narrowly pull off the win 31-28.
This will be the last NFL gif in the history of mankind, because there will never be another gif worth looking at ever again.
