New England Patriots NFL Prediction: 2019 Season Betting Odds and Preview
The New England Patriots are coming off their sixth Super Bowl victory, but head into this season with a number of major question marks. Is this the year that Tom Brady actually starts playing like his age? What will happen with Josh Gordon? How much will the Pats miss Rob Gronkowski? Still, despite these questions (and a lot more), oddsmakers have the Patriots listed as +700 favourites to win another Super Bowl.
The Pats capped off another incredible season with a 13-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl, easily covering the number as 2-point favourites. New England went 11-5 outright in the regular season and 9-7 against the spread (ATS).
New England Patriots Acquisitions and Transactions
Gronkowski retired, so the Pats brought back tight end Ben Watson and signed Austin Seferian-Jenkins. Demaryius Thomas is a depth addition at wideout. N’Keal Harry was the only wide receiver drafted in the first round and will be expected to have an impact right away. Meanwhile, Michael Bennett and Jamie Collins will help the defence that struggled for much of last year.

New England Patriots NFL Betting and Odds
The names on a lot of the jerseys may change from one year to the next, but every season the Patriots are in the mix when the playoffs roll around. That’s why it’s absolutely irresponsible to discount their chances to win the Super Bowl again and why oddsmakers have their regular season over/under win total at 11. This year, New England is a huge -493 favourite to finish atop the AFC East and that line could grow before Week 1. The Pats are easily the strongest team in their division with a schedule which looks very nice on paper and barring a calamity (i.e. a serious Tom Brady injury), should be back in the playoffs again.
It goes without saying that the Patriots take home-field advantage to another level. They’re heading into the regular season riding a 15-0 run straight up at Gillette Stadium (12-3) against the spread. Not underestimating the greatness of No. 12, the best attributes of this team are its game planning, execution, and adjustments. Super star players come and go, but the wins keep piling up. Haters be damned, this year will be no different.
Keep a close eye on the totals this team sees this year too. At a glance, this squad may have to win more with defence than an explosive offence. The Pats may lean on a stable of running backs to set up play-action opportunities on offence, while last season’s defensive clinic the team put on in Super Bowl LIII could be a sign of things to come.
New England Patriots Prediction
The Pats might take a while to come around this year. Don’t forget they lost two out of three out of the gate last season before finding their groove. A couple of injuries and some growing pains will likely keep New England under its 11-win total, but this team should be bound for the playoffs again. Prediction: 10-6 regular season and a trip to the AFC Conference semifinals, where they’ll finally stumble.
