The Jets travel to North Florida searching for answers after suffering a 32-26 loss last week in Miami that extends their current losing streak to four games and marks their ninth defeat in 10 games. The Jaguars escaped Tennessee last weekend with a narrow 10-6 win but have failed to tally consecutive wins during a dismal 4-15 run that started in December 2023.

The Jets have emerged as betting chalk for the first time in seven games, favoured by 3.5 points on the NFL Week 15 odds. The Jaguars are a +150 bet on the NFL moneyline and the total is listed at 40.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

While the Jags have failed to rediscover the touch that fuelled a 7-1 run just prior to their current epic swoon, they have held the upper hand in recent meetings with the Jets, winning three of their past four head-to-head meetings, with each of those wins coming by double-digit margins. However, points have come at a premium for the Jaguars, who have averaged just 10.8 points per game over their past four outings and rank 26th in the NFL with just 18.3 points per game.

The Jags have also not enjoyed any benefit of home cooking while losing three straight and four of six at home this season, but have still managed to go 3-0-1 ATS over their past four home dates. The team has also scored just 12.2 points per game while losing six straight as home underdogs by three or more points but are 2-0-1 ATS in their past three.

The Jets saw their lost season continue with last week’s loss to the Dolphins, which also dumped them to 1-6 on the road this season. Outright losers in six straight as betting chalk, the Jets have been lit up for 29.3 points per game during their current 0-4 run.

New York Jets

It is difficult to understate just how much of a train-wreck this season has been for the Jets. Expected to return to playoff contention an even challenge for the AFC East title with Aaron Rodgers’ return, the Jets have already been eliminated from playoff contention with four games remaining, leading Rodgers to suggest that a “curse” may be to blame for the team’s decade-long struggle to return to respectability.

Injuries haven’t helped either. Star rusher Breece Hall missed Wednesday practice as he continues to nurse a knee injury that forced him to miss last week’s loss in Miami. The Jets secondary defence is also hobbled, with cornerbacks Brandin Echols, DJ Reed, and Michael Carter all finding their way on to the injury report. However, the good news is Sauce Gardner is expected to return to action after being sidelined last week by a hamstring injury.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Speaking of injuries, the Jaguars have entered December missing the services of quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who saw his campaign cut short two weeks ago by a vicious hit by Houston linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair that left the Jacksonville pivot concussed and in need of season-ending shoulder injury.

With Lawrence on the shelf, Mac Jones took over the offence last weekend, leading the Jags to their narrow win over the Titans while completing 74.2 per cent of pass attempts but failed to find the end zone while tossing two picks to bring his season total to five in just six appearances. Already missing injured receivers Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis, Jones may also miss the services of tight end Evan Engram, who has been absent from practice with a shoulder injury.
