Le’Veon Bell has been a workhorse the last couple of weeks and it’s showing up on the stat sheets. In the last two weeks Bell has carried the ball 46 times for 159 yards.
The Jets have won five of their last seven games and are hoping to ride some momentum into next season. Meanwhile the Bills just want to stay healthy as they are headed into the post season as a Wild Card team.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
These two teams have split the season series dating back two years and if the Jets can win on Sunday that would make it three years in a row.
Back in September the Jets built up a decent 16-3 fourth quarter lead only to have the Bills march back with 14 unanswered points in the last quarter to win it by a point.
The Bills are 3-0-1 against the spread versus a team with a losing record. They are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a straight up loss.
The Jets have struggled in the month of December going 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games in this month. They are also 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games versus their division and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.
The Jets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games in Buffalo, and last won in Buffalo in December of 2018.
New York Jets
The Jets will close the 2019 season in Western New York in a match-up with the Bills. The team is playing well in the second half of the season; winners of three out of the last five games including a 16-10 win against the playoff hungry Pittsburgh Steelers.
Le’Veon Bell has been a workhorse the last couple of weeks and it’s showing up on the stat sheets. In the last two weeks Bell has carried the ball 46 times for 159 yards. In the previous three week he had a combined 40 carries for 140 yards.
Receiver Robbie Anderson has now caught four touchdowns in the last six week. He’ll be a free agent at season’s end and is in for a large payday. Will it be with the Jets or elsewhere?
Buffalo Bills
Win or lose, the Bills are locked into the number five spot in the AFC and will travel to Houston or Kansas City next week.
Under third year Head Coach Sean McDermott, the Bills have continued to improve and have made the playoffs in two of the last three years. McDermott will likely sit some key starters in this game. Expect backup Quarteback Matt Barkley to play significant time in this game.
The strength of this team is its defence, currently ranked third in the NFL. The Bills have been one of the best shut down teams as far as pass defence is concerned, allowing an average of only 195.9 passing yards per game.
Tre’Davious White has been a great story in the Bills secondary. According to NFL Research, White has allowed zero touchdowns against in 83 opportunities in coverage, which is truly a remarkable stat entering the last weekend of the season. He also has six interceptions on the year.
