A three-game losing streak is getting snapped when the Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams square off on the west coast. Thanks to their recent skid the 2-9 Jaguars are well out of the AFC’s playoff race but it’s a different story for the 7-4 Rams. Jacksonville’s now fallen to last place in their conference while Los Angeles remains the top NFC wild-card.

With wins over Chicago, the New York Giants, Detroit, Houston — Los Angeles has capitalized on some inferior opponents. The Jaguars are certainly in that tier but have the capability to play spoiler. Just see their Week 9 win over Buffalo for proof.

Kickoff at SoFi Stadium goes at 4:25 p.m. EST Sunday. The Rams sit as 13-point favourites to win, with the over-under at 47.5 on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Rams are allowing 23.9 points an outing and are fresh off a loss in which they surrendered a season high 36 points. The Jags are a little worse on defence, allowing 25.7 points per game.

Jacksonville’s problems stem on offence. Scoring just 15.7 points per game, they rank second-worst in that category. It’s played a large role in their 9-2 record to the under. The under’s hit in six straight Jacksonville games and in 10 of Los Angeles’ last 13 at home. Both teams are in a funk on offence too, with each ranking in the bottom-10 in scoring these last three weeks.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The wheels are falling off on Trevor Lawrence’s rookie season under centre. Jacksonville’s failed to reach 20 points in all of their last five contests including most recently, a 21-14 loss to Atlanta. Lawrence mustered up just 228 yards passing on 42 attempts and now has 10 interceptions to go with nine touchdowns on the season, along with a 72.3 quarterback rating.

The Jaguars are a top-five offence when it comes to yards per rush attempt, but nether this nor Lawrence’s play is translating to scoring. On defence, starting linebacker Myles Jack (knee) and cornerback Shaquill Griffin (concussion) both missed Wednesday’s practice.

Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford’s going through some mid-season struggles, throwing pick-sixes in three straight games. They’ve put the Rams in a position where they’re chasing deficits, and a running offence that’s second-last in yards during that stretch hasn’t helped. Los Angeles only averaged 3.4 yards per rush during last week’s loss at Green Bay.

With 96 receiving yards against the Packers, league-leading pass-catcher Cooper Kupp has registered at least 90 yards in all but one of L.A.’s 11 games this season. Kupp’s 1,237 receiving yards is over 150 more than any player. Last weekend also saw Odell Beckham Jr. pick up 81 yards on five catches and score his first major as a Ram.
