We've got you covered with picks on props, futures and spreads ahead of Week 2 in the NFL.
Overreaction Monday is a couple days behind us and now it’s time to step back and try to evaluate what was real and what wasn’t after Week 1 of the NFL season.
Based on that info, let’s take a look at some key picks to lock in ahead of Week 2 in the NFL.
Thursday Night Football: Bills vs. Dolphins
Josh Allen has huge upside as he can beat you in the air or on the ground, but it’s his decision making that is cause for concern. Allen threw the second-most interceptions in the NFL last year (18) and only had four regular season games without a pick.
This is a divisional game, so the Dolphins know Allen well. He’s also thrown an interception in seven straight road games, including twice in Miami in last year’s regular season finale. The Dolphins will capitalize on an Allen mistake at least once this week.
Week 2 pick: Josh Allen Over 0.5 interceptions
Buccaneers vs. Lions
What am I missing here from Week 1? Sure, the Falcons have Kirk Cousins, but he looked terrible, and the Saints blew out Carolina, but the Panthers are the worst team in football.
I was already high on Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay before the season and their own blowout win against Washington solidified my belief they’ll win the NFC South. Getting the Bucs at +220 to win the division is a great price. Cleveland fans have to be kicking themselves for ever wanting Mayfield gone.
Week 2 pick: Bucs win NFC South
Bengals vs. Chiefs
Raise your hand if the Bengals burned you in your survivor pool with their Week 1 loss to the New England Patriots. Cincinnati’s offence struggled heavily, with Joe Burrow managing just 169 passing yards and no touchdowns.
While the Bengals have generally played well against the Chiefs, there’s just something that doesn’t seem right this season. I think Patrick Mahomes, Xavier worthy and the rest of Kansas City’s offence will terrorize Cincinnati all day and win by at least a touchdown.
Week 2 pick: Chiefs -5.5
Sunday Night Football: Bears vs. Texans
The only reason you can’t describe Caleb Williams’ NFL debut as a disaster is because they somehow found a way to win despite the rookie QB completing just 14 of 29 pass attempts for 93 yards. Williams was inaccurate and his lone completion to fellow top-10 draft pick Rome Odunze was a fluke batted ball.
If Williams struggled that much at home, what would make anyone think he’ll be better in Houston? The Texans have a top-10 defence in the NFL and they’ll be itching to pick apart the rookie.
Week 2 pick: Caleb Williams Under 218.5 passing yards
Monday Night Football: Falcons vs. Eagles
Atlanta struggled on offence last week in Kirk Cousins’ first game since tearing his Achilles in Week 8 last season. I think Cousins and the Falcons will be better against Philadelphia. The rust will start to come off Cousins and this is a defence that didn’t allow an offensive touchdown against Pittsburgh.
Plus, you’re talking about an Eagles team that has had a pretty heavy travel schedule after opening the season in Brazil. Atlanta won’t win, but they can cover the number.
Week 2 pick: Falcons +6.5
