Giants vs. Saints Point Spread: NFL Week 15 Odds, Prediction
A three-game win streak that’s put the Giants right in the hunt of the NFC playoff picture. At 5-8 the Giants are one game back of the final Wild-Card spot.
The 6-7 Saints got back in the win column last weekend with a 28-6 romping of last-place Carolina. That sub .500 Saints record is good enough to be tied for both the NFC South lead and final Wild-Card spot, but remain on the outside because of their divisional record and head-to-head win percentage.
Kickoff at Caesars Superdome gets started at 1 p.m. EST with the Saints still a six-point favourite at home and the over-under at 38 on the NHL odds.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Another week, another under in New Orleans. The under improved to 9-4 in Saints games this season, and they now host the Giants who remain second-last in the NFL this season with 14.1 points per game. New Orelans’ defensive efforts last week moved them into the top 10 in points allowed per game with 20.5.
Ironically, seven of the last Giants–Saints contests played in New Orleans have finished over the total. The Giants have now scored at least 24 points in two games, while their defence has failed to allow 20 points in three straight outings. On paper each defence should have the advantage, but Tommy DeVito and the Giants are defying some logic since Week 11.
New York Giants
The most impressive part of New York’s 24-22 win last Monday against Green Bay was that New York found themselves down a point with 93 seconds remaining, and the unlikely heroes again delivered. DeVito found Wan’Dale Robinson for a 32-yard completion that set up a 37-yard Randy Bullock game-winning field goal as time expired. Robinson was the only Giants pass-catcher with over 22 receiving yards, recording six grabs for 79 yards.
Suddenly a playoff spot isn’t out of the picture for New York, who went 9-7-1 last season and actually won a playoff game. This team the road’s much harder and without starting quarterback Daniel Jones, but Tommy DeVito’s swagger is apparently all New York needs.
New Orleans Saints
A pair of fourth-quarter touchdown passes put some lipstick on the pig when it comes to Derek Carr and the Saints offence. Between Carr recovering from his last latest injuries to verbal altercations on the field with his own offensive lineman, the vibe of this Saints team just doesn’t feel right. Carr ended up completing 18 passes for 119 yards last week while the Saints rushed for 97 yards on 25 carries.
And no, it’s not impressive but rather expected you hold Carolina to single digits at this point. What’s more concerning is New Orleans defence had surrendered an average of 28 points per game over their three contests prior to last week. But based on how Carr’s offence is moving, it’s going to have to be the Saints defence stepping up if the home team’s to win Sunday.
