Cowboys vs. Vikings Point Spread: NFL Week 11 Odds, Prediction

The Cowboys travel to Minnesota after dropping a 31-28 decision to the slumping Green Bay Packers in last week’s date at Lambeau Field, and are now winless straight up and against the spread in their past two road contests.

Despite their recent success, which includes a four-game win streak on home turf, the Vikings have steadily faded to 1.5-point home underdogs since this game opened as a pick ‘em on the NFL Week 11 odds. The total has been on the rise since opening at 47, climbing to 47.5 with the OVER garnering the support of 87 per cent of sports bettors.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Sunday afternoon’s matchup at US Bank Stadium marks the fourth meeting between these NFC rivals in as many seasons, and the Cowboys’ third visit to Minnesota since 2020. Dallas emerged victorious in each of its past two road dates with the Vikings, capped by a narrow 20-16 win as 4.5-point underdogs last season, and have now earned the win in four of five head-to-head contests.

While the total has reached 50 in three of their past five clashes, it is the UNDER that enjoys a 3-2-0 edge over that stretch. Recent clashes between these teams have been hard fought, with each of their past six dates getting settled by a margin of four or fewer points.

Dallas Cowboys

It was a rude homecoming of sorts for Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy in his first trip to Lambeau Field since parting ways with the Packers four years ago. The Cowboys seemingly had matters in hand after establishing a 14-point lead over the slumping Pack heading into the fourth quarter, but had no answer for Aaron Rodgers, who guided Green Bay to a much needed rally and their first victory in six games. Dallas has now lost two in a row on the road after winning nine of 10, with the team’s vaunted defence suddenly struggling.

The Cowboys have now allowed 60 total points over their past two contests after limiting opponents to 17 or fewer points fives times during their preceding 5-1 run. In addition to the continued uncertainty over the fitness of Ezekiel Elliott, who has missed the past two games with a knee injury, the Cowboys also face injury concerns on defence, with edge DeMarcus Lawrence, linebacker Anthony Barr, and cornerback Anthony Brown all spending time in the clinic.

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings once again silenced the haters with yet another big win last weekend, knocking off the Buffalo Bills in a contest has emerged as the leading candidate to claim game of the year honours. The squad has built their current seven-game win streak on fourth-quarter heroics. The Vikings have overcome deficits in the final frame in each of their past two, and four times during the streak, while outscoring opponents by a combined 80-40 margin in the fourth quarter. Kirk Cousins has emerged as the star pivot this team had hoped for when they signed him to a rich contract in 2018. Cousins piled up a season-high 357 passing yards while leading the Vikings to last week’s win, and connected on 11 scoring passes during the 2-0 run.

Justin Jefferson has quickly emerged as Cousins’ favourite target. Fresh off a career-high 193-yard performance last week, the Vikings top receiver has now averaged 135.7 yards over his past six outings, and has made scoring catches in each of the past two games. However, the status of Jefferson remains uncertain after he was limited in Wednesday practice by a toe injury.
