Cowboys vs. Washington Point Spread: NFL Week 7 Odds, Prediction
The NFC East has become a bit of a joke – but neither the Dallas Cowboys nor the Washington Football Team are laughing as they lock horns Sunday afternoon in Landover. Despite awful starts from both teams, neither is out of the running for the division title as they square off in the first of two meetings this season. Dallas leads the East despite owning a 2-4 record, with the Football Team just one game off the pace despite having lost five in a row.
NFL Week 7 Point Spread and Betting Analysis
This game is a toss-up in oddsmakers’ eyes – which says everything you need to know about how the Cowboys’ season has gone so far. Dallas has failed to cover any of the six games it has played in 2020, but is a sizzling 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last six encounters with Washington. The Football Team hasn’t been much better overall – having gone just 2-6-1 ATS in its previous nine games – and has won just two of its last 15 games at FedExField.
Dallas has overwhelming support from the betting public (80 percent of Sports Interaction participants are taking the Cowboys) while nearly two-thirds are siding with the Over on the current total of 46. And these teams know how to light it up against one another, having converted the Over in eight of their last nine head-to-head meetings; they’ve combined to average nearly 51 total points over their last 10 encounters.
Dallas Cowboys
It was an unthinkable scenario at the start of the season: might we start to see the Cowboys give less work to Ezekiel Elliott and more carries to backup running back Tony Pollard? Zeke has struggled mightily to hold onto the football so far this season, having fumbled five times (and losing four of those fumbles) over his first six games. Elliott apologized for his two-fumble performance last time out, but sorries won’t keep him on the field if the trend continues.
Washington Football Team
We love player props – and there’s a great Over opportunity brewing in this one. With the Cowboys saddled with a below-average pass defence and the Football Team likely needing to air it out to keep pace with the visitors, look for Washington wide receiver Terry McLaurin to be heavily involved in the Week 7 game plan. McLaurin enters the game ranked fifth in the league in targets and ninth in receptions; we like him to go Over his reception and yard totals here.
