Colts vs. Titans Point Spread: NFL Week 6 Odds, Prediction

Tennessee went into last week’s bye on a high after blowing out Miami 31-12 for their first win of the season in Week 4. The Colts fell in heartbreaking fashion against Jacksonville in Week 5, tying the game late in the fourth quarter before a last-minute field goal gave the Jags a 37-34 win.

The Titans opened as 1.5-point favourites to win on the NFL odds, with the total sitting at 42.5.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

There’s been a small shift in the line for this game. Early betting action has pushed the line to Tennessee -2.5 as of Thursday afternoon, while the total has been nudged to an even 43.0.

Indy took both games last year, breaking a five-game win streak in head-to-head action for the Titans. The Over/Under has split evenly in the last 10 matchups, although the Under has played in four of the last five.

The Colts have made bettors very happy this season, going 4-1 against the spread, including covers in three straight games. The trends say expect lots of points as Indianapolis has hit the Over in seven of their last eight games against AFC opponents as well as four of their last five against the AFC South division.

Tennessee is a dismal 1-3 ATS in 2024, covering for the first time in last week’s win. This year’s record continues a trend that has seen the Titans go 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games against AFC teams and 1-5 ATS in their last six against the AFC South.

Indianapolis Colts

There were definitely some positives to take away for the Colts in last week’s loss. Indy scored 24 points in the fourth quarter despite playing without quarterback Anthony Richardson, running back Jonathan Taylor and centre Ryan Kelly. Joe Flacco started in place of Richardson, with the 39-year-old putting up 359 passing yards and three TDs. Alec Pierce had a few monster plays, finishing with 134 receiving yards and a touchdown on just three catches.

As mentioned, Indianapolis is dealing with injuries to key players. Richardson missed last week’s game with an oblique injury, but he has been a limited participant at practice. It’s still too early to tell, however, if he’ll play on Sunday. Taylor hasn’t practiced because of an ankle injury, so he’s likely out. Kelly (neck) has been a full participant at practice and is expected to return this week.

Tennessee Titans

There were some pretty unbelievable passing stats for the Titans as they earned their first win of the season two weeks ago. Will Levis completed three of four pass attempts for 25 yards and an interception before leaving with a shoulder injury and backup Mason Rudolph went 9-of-17 for just 85 yards and no TDs in relief. No receiver had more than two catches as Tennessee relied heavily on running the ball. Tony Pollard (88 rushing yards) and Tyjae Spears (39 yards) combined for 37 carries, with each player running in a touchdown.

Kicker Nick Folk was the hero against Miami, going 5-for-5 on field goals and accounting for 17 of the Titans’ 31 points. That game plan won’t work against Indianapolis, but it remains to be seen if Levis will be ready to play and Brian Callahan clearly doesn’t trust Rudolph to throw the ball. Levis has practiced this week, but whether he plays on Sunday or not is a situation worth monitoring.
