Colts vs. Chargers Point Spread: NFL Week 7 Odds, Prediction
Division leaders clash on Sunday afternoon, when the Los Angeles Chargers host the Indianapolis Colts in NFL Week 7 action at SoFi Stadium.
The Colts have emerged as one of the surprise teams on the 2025 NFL campaign while storming to the top of the AFC South standings with a 5-1 record, capped by last week’s 31-27 win over Arizona.
The Chargers return home knotted with Denver atop the AFC West standings after snapping a two-game slide with last week’s 29-27 victory in Miami.
The Chargers have emerged as slim 1.5-point home favourites on the NFL Week 7 odds. The Colts trail as +110 underdogs on the NFL moneyline, and the total is listed at 48.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Sunday’s clash marks the first meeting between these AFC rivals since 2002, and the Colts’ first visit to SoFi Stadium to face the Chargers in over six years. The Chargers have dominated in recent head-to-head play, topping Indy in six of eight meetings including a 30-24 victory in their most recent home date with the Colts.
LA has also been a reliable bet versus the Colts, going 6-2-1 against the spread in their past nine. Low scoring has been commonplace when these teams meet, with the total exceeding 50 just once in their past eight tilts, sparking a 6-1-1 run for the UNDER in totals betting.
The Chargers have emerged as a shaky bet after a hot start, failing to cover in three straight contests, all as betting favourites. And while, Los Angeles has won and covered in three of four home contests overall, the team has generated a middling 4-4 SU and ATS record in their past eight while pegged as home chalk by three or fewer points.
For a second straight year, the Colts have enjoyed a hot start, but have covered just once in their past three games. Indy still has work to do on the road, where they have gone just 4-9 SU and 5-8 ATS in their past 13, but has won outright in four of seven as a small road dog.
Indianapolis Colts
Daniel Jones has established himself as an intriguing +425 bet on the odds to claim AP Comeback Player of the year honours while leading the Colts to an early divisional lead. A favourite whipping horse of fans and pundits alike during six lost seasons with the New York Giants, “Danny Dimes” has flashed the form that made him the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft while tossing for eight touchdowns and 1,503 yards while adding four scoring runs during the Colts’ 5-1 start.
However, Jones arrives on the West Coast accompanied by a receiving corps stricken by injuries. That includes Josh Downs, who is officially listed as questionable after missing practice this week due to a concussion. Tyler Warren remains Jones’ favourite target. The veteran tight end leads the squad with 370 receiving and his seen his two scoring passes this season come in the past two games.
Jonathan Taylor has been a best in the backfield while running for a league-leading 603 yards and seven scores, and is a solid -115 bet on the NFL player props to top 88.5 rushing yards against a Chargers rush defence that has surrendered an average of 144.8 rushing yards over the past four games.
Los Angeles Chargers
While the Chargers are coming off their highest scoring performance of the season, expectations should be tempered considering it came last week against the bottom-feeding Miami Dolphins. Indeed, the Chargers managed to score just 28 total points in preceding consecutive losses to the Giants and Washington Commanders, and have tallied just 16.5 points per game in their two appearances to date at SoFi Stadium.
A growing list of injuries have not helped matters for Justin Herbert. The Chargers pivot has rounded into form while connecting on 76.1 per cent of pass attempts over the past two games, finding the end zone three times. However, he may have to make do without the services of receivers Quentin Johnston and Derius Davis, both of whom have been limited at practice this week.
On a positive note, second-year running back Kimani Vidal has stepped up in an injury-plagued backfield. Vidal enjoyed the biggest day of his career last week in Miami, galloping for 124 yards on 18 carries and offers value as a +100 bet to record OVER 13.5 rushing attempts on Sunday.
