Arizona Cardinals vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons will open the doors to their new home for the first time on Saturday and the club is hoping to make it a party. The $1.5 billion, 71,000-seat Mercedes-Benz Stadium will feature deals including hot dogs for $2, nachos for $3, and beers for $5. Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said Tuesday, “man, we’re pumped to see this new stadium and be in front of our crowd.” Latest reports indicate the stadium’s roof will remain closed for the game.

Cardinals vs. Falcons Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Point spread: Falcons -3.5 Over/under: 43.5 Date: Saturday, August 26, 2017 @ 19:00 Location: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta.

Atlanta is 0-2 so far in the preseason, falling 23-20 in Miami in Week 1 and 17-13 last Sunday in Pittsburgh to the Steelers. The Cardinals are 1-2 in the preseason so far, losing to Dallas 20-18 in the Hall of Fame Game and dropping a 24-23 decision to the Bears in the desert last Saturday. Arizona’s only win was in Week 1 at home against the Raiders 20-10. NFL odds have the home team Falcons as 3.5-point favourites with the total currently sitting at 43.5.

Arizona Cardinals

Expect the Cardinals to use plenty of Blaine Gabbert in this game after Carson Palmer checks out with the rest of the starters around halftime. Arizona head coach Bruce Arians has already named Drew Stanton as the backup quarterback. Arians said this week that Gabbert is still learning the offence and should have plenty of opportunity to put up some numbers against the vanilla Falcons defense in the second half. Gabbert is 30-for-48 for 412 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in three games this preseason.

Atlanta Falcons

Falcons head coach Dan Quinn seems to have a blueprint set for his club’s third preseason game. Last season in Week 3, both the starting offense and defense appeared to play six series and left the game following their first possessions in the third quarter. Quinn hinted this week that we should expect the same.
