This game is a wash for the Cards, who look like a lock for last, while the Falcons could shockingly be back in the playoff hunt with a win.

The Arizona Cardinals desperately need this game to keep their abysmal season alive.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Atlanta is favoured here by -9, which shouldn’t shock anybody. Arizona has been allergic to points this season posting a measly 178, which is good enough for dead last in the league by a landslide.

That spread though should tell you two things. For starters, the Falcons are the likeable choice, of course, but also the Cards stand a pretty good shot against the points. The Cards, while virtually unbettable this season straight up, are 5-1-1 in their last seven against the NFC.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals have posted just 33 points in their last three games. Although one of those matchups resulted in a victory against Green Bay, the red birds have not had a holiday season to remember. However, what you can generally count on, is that they love giving gifts.

Josh Rosen is tied for fourth in the league with 12 interceptions and has also been sacked 29 times, which is good enough for 13th worst. You’re probably thinking that’s not too bad for a rookie, but let’s also remember that he didn’t play in the Cards’ first two games of the year.

Atlanta Falcons

While their season has been extremely rough around the edges, the good news as of late is the revival of Julio Jones. While the yards were somewhat there before, it took Jones until the first week of November to finally hit the score sheet. Since then, he’s posted five touchdowns in his last six games. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that the Falcons have gone 1-5 during that stretch. They’re also 1-5 ATS in their last six at home and 1-4 against that same spread in their last five against conference opponents. Again, the likeable option in this one is Arizona against that spread.

Through their last six meetings, though, the home team has taken the straight up victory on five occasions. The over has also been hit four times in the last five games between these two NFC clubs.
