The Philadelphia Eagles have won three of their first four games and are alone atop the NFC East. But remember, the Eagles started 3-0 last season and then only won four games the rest of the way. Can they keep their early-season momentum going as the Arizona Cardinals visit on Sunday?

Arizona Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Point Spread: Philadelphia -6.5 Date: Sunday October 8, 2017 – 1:00 PM ET Location: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Point Spread And Betting Analysis

The Eagles opened up as a six-point favorite in this spot but the line is now up to 6.5. Looking at the Sports Interaction betting trends, 52% of the early money is on the Eagles. In terms of the total, it opened up and still is at 45.5, but a whopping 78% of the action has been on the over at last check.

Arizona Cardinals

Arizona’s offense hasn’t been nearly as efficient without star running back David Johnson in the fold. The Cardinals have averaged just 57.0 rushing yards per game this season, which is the worst mark in the NFL. Arizona has remained committed to the run in order to make sure teams aren’t solely focused on shutting down Carson Palmer and the passing game, but they will need to be more efficient in order for that to happen. Meanwhile, Palmer has thrown for 1,282 yards and five touchdowns through four games, but he also has thrown five interceptions. Arizona needs Palmer to cut down on his turnovers. That’ll be key this week against an Eagles team that is tied for fourth in the NFL in takeaways with seven.

The Cards defense has been excellent in the two wins but very mediocre in its two losses. Arizona has allowed an average of 14.0 points per game in two wins compared to 31.5 points in two losses. The Cardinals defense will certainly be tested by the Philadelphia offense on Sunday that is seventh in points per game (25.8).

Philadelphia Eagles

Wentz has steadily progressed in his second year as he has completed 60% of his passes while throwing for 1,058 yards and six touchdowns compared to only two interceptions. The additions of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith has helped Wentz stretch the field vertically early on this year. The next step will be establishing a more potent rushing attack with running back LaGarrette Blount leading the way on the ground. Blount is coming off his best game of the season after rushing for 136 yards on 16 carries against the Chargers. He should see another heavy workload this week to keep the Arizona defense off-balance.

Meanwhile, the Eagles defense continues to do just enough to win games. The key to success for them this week will be to get to Palmer, who is a stationary quarterback. When he’s harassed, he tends to make mistakes.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Eagles Prediction:

Philadelphia 28, Arizona 20
