The Cleveland Browns have an opportunity to crush their division rivals’ postseason dreams on Sunday. Cleveland has won two out of their last three and travel to face off with one of their biggest rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh started the year off with a 2-6 record but came out of the bye week with a new energy. They currently sit at 8-8 on the year and could be a win away from clinching a postseason spot. Can the Browns spoil the party or will Pittsburgh find another way to a win?

Pittsburgh is a 3-point favourite to win on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Browns are 4-1 ATS in their last five games played against teams from the AFC North division. However, they are just 1-5 ATS in their last six games when coming off a straight-up win in the previous outing. As for the total, the under has cashed in their last six games overall and eight out of their last 11 games played on the road.

As for the Steelers, they are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and 5-0 ATS in their past five games against teams with a losing overall record on the season. When it comes to the total, the under has cashed in four of their last five games overall and nine out of their last 11 games played at home.

Cleveland Browns

It’s been clear in the past five games that quarterback Deshaun Watson needs a bit more time to get his legs under him. He hasn’t enjoyed a very explosive start to his season statistically as he’s thrown for just 872 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions in five appearances. Those expecting to see the Browns offence go to the next level have been disappointed.

With the Browns already being eliminated from the playoffs, this final game could be a referendum on head coach Kevin Stefanski. Few coaches have lost as much lustre as Stefanski has this season and many feel he should be fired.

Stefanski is an offensive guy and the offence is broken – even with Watson back. In the five games with Watson at quarterback, the team scored over 13 points just twice. Another outing like that and Stefanski might be looking for work soon.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Make that three straight wins and five out of their last six for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The one loss they suffered during this stretch came against the Baltimore Ravens when they lost rookie standout Kenny Pickett early on in the game and Mitchell Trubisky tossed multiple interceptions. Pickett isn’t posting numbers that just jump off the page but that hasn’t mattered. He’s coming up big when his team needs him the most with back-to-back game-winning touchdown drives to seal the game.

There’s no question that Pickett will be called upon to help push Pittsburgh into the postseason with a win over their division rivals. It feels like this team has momentum right now.
