Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Point Spread: Chargers -2
Date: Oct. 22, 4:25 PM ET
Location: StubHub Center – Carson, California

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Chargers opened as 1.5-point faves on the Sports Interaction odds board but the spread has been gone up a half point to Broncos +2. The total opened at 42.5 but has dropped down a point to 41.5.

Los Angeles is 0-3 straight up and against the spread in its three games at the StubHub Center. The Chargers don’t exactly have the most passionate fan base wherever they play. The team is just 7-19 ATS in its last 26 home games overall. The road team is 10-3-2 ATS in the last 15 meetings between these two AFC West foes.

Denver is +250 to win the division behind the Kansas City Chiefs at -200 on the Sports Interaction NFL futures board. The Chargers are the longshot at +1600 to come out on top in the AFC West.

Denver Broncos

A team known for playing a mile above sea level could have its season drowned out in a month’s time. After this weekend’s game against the Chargers, the Broncos play at Kansas City, at Philadelphia and then host New England in Week 10. There’s a good chance Denver will be the underdog in each of those matchups.

Los Angeles Chargers

For a second consecutive week, the Bolts didn’t bottle a game in the final quarter. There are a number of problems the team can still fix in the first half of the game. Los Angeles is being outscored 50-7 in first quarters this season including last week when the Oakland Raiders jumped out to a 7-0 lead half way through the first period.

Rookie receiver Mike Williams could help Philip Rivers and the Chargers offense put up more points in the early going. The former Clemson standout and LA’s first round pick in the 2017 draft missed the first five games of the season but made a cameo appearance last week against Oakland.
