Bills vs. Ravens Point Spread: NFL Week 4 Odds, Prediction
Baltimore opened as 2.5-point favourites on the NFL odds.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
If not for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs since 2018, both the Bills and Ravens might have won a Super Bowl by now — but they have been blocked from even getting there by that K.C. dynasty in the AFC. It’s somewhat like Michael Jordan always keeping Patrick Ewing and the New York Knicks from the NBA Finals back in the day. With the Chiefs off to a 3-0 start, it appears the AFC title will yet again go through Kansas City.
Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson won his second career regular-season MVP award last year and it’s hard to fathom that Buffalo counterpart Josh Allen doesn’t get at least one himself by the end of his career – if not this season — as he already has three top-five finishes. Jackson and Allen are both mobile quarterbacks, but Jackson is more about quickness on the ground and the bigger Allen more about power.
Including one playoff matchup, the Ravens are 6-5 against the Bills. They last met in Week 4 of the 2022 season in Baltimore, and the Bills won 23-20 on a 21-yard field goal as time expired. Buffalo trailed 20-3 late in the second quarter. Allen threw for a score and rushed for one. Jackson had a TD pass and 73 yards rushing but two picks.
Buffalo Bills
It’s a short week for Buffalo, which played without two key defensive players in linebacker Terrel Bernard (2023 leading tackler) and cornerback Taron Johnson (2023 Pro Bowler) but still trashed visiting Jacksonville 47-10 on Monday night to stay unbeaten. It tied for the fourth-largest margin of victory in franchise history and was Buffalo’s sixth win by at least 34 points in Weeks 1-5 over the past four years. The rest of the NFL has only five combined such wins in that span.
Josh Allen threw for four TDs and led the team in rushing with 44 yards. He has now gone back-to-back starts without a turnover for the first time in five years, and it’s the first time he has thrown zero interceptions through three games to start a season. Buffalo had six players score a TD on Monday, tying the most such players scoring in a game in franchise history (1990, 1998). The Bills are 4-2 ATS in their past six games.
Baltimore Ravens
No 0-3 team has ever gone on to win a Super Bowl, and the Ravens avoided 0-3 with a thoroughly dominating 28-25 win in Dallas on Sunday. Largely throw out that final score as it was 28-6 with nine minutes left as the Cowboys had a few garbage scores to make it interesting. Baltimore does have a reputation in recent years for blowing big leads and losing as it did in Week 2. Even though they held vs. Dallas, the Ravens have been outscored 39-17 in the fourth quarter this season.
Baltimore gashed the Cowboys for 274 rushing yards led by 151 yards and two scores from Derrick Henry. Lamar Jackson rushed for 87 yards and a TD and threw a TD pass. Jackson improved to 21-1 as a starting quarterback against NFC teams. Penalties continued to be an issue for the Ravens, who had 13 for 105 yards. They lead the NFL with 31 flags for 278 yards. Sunday’s game is Baltimore’s “Darkness Falls” game, and all fans are encouraged to wear black to M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens are 13-6-1 ATS in their past 20 vs. AFC East foes.
