MNF Bills vs. Patriots Point Spread: NFL Week 16 Odds, Prediction
After clinching the division last week, the Bills are focused on this week as they tangle with the New England Patriots in the Monday nighter.
Buffalo has reeled off four consecutive victories for their first division crown since 1995, and they’re sizeable favourites against a Pats team that will miss the playoffs.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Bills are favoured by a converted touchdown in Foxboro, the second time this season the Patriots have received 7+ points at home (after having not been that big an underdog at Gillette Stadium since 2001). The Patriots won outright the last time, beating Baltimore 23-17 at +7 back on Nov. 15, and have gone 6-0 ATS the last six times they’ve been given seven more points at home. The Bills are 3-1 ATS in their past four as a road fave of 7+ points.
The total for this AFC East rivalry matchup is set at 46, with 67 percent of Sports Interaction bettors siding with the Over. The Bills have been an Over bettor’s dream this season, boasting a 10-4 O/U mark overall; they also sport an incredible 6-1 O/U record away from Bills Stadium. The Patriots, on the other hand, come in having converted the Under in each of their past six games, with only one of those contests going past the 40-point plateau.
Buffalo Bills
Quarterback Josh Allen has taken an enormous step forward in Year 3 of his NFL career, and is a big reason why the Bills come in with a six-game consecutive cover streak. And he would love nothing more than to atone for a subpar showing in his previous meeting with the Patriots. Allen went just 11-for-18 for 154 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in Buffalo’s 24-21 home win over New England on Nov. 1, though he did have a rushing score.
New England Patriots
An NFL season in New England without a playoff game is like clam chowder without the clams (or so we’d imagine). So what’s left for the Patriots to focus on over their final two games? That starts with a potentially longer look at quarterback Jarrett Stidham, who is the only one of the Patriots’ three current QBs under contract next season. Look for Bill Belichick to try and get Stidham some reps over the next two weeks to see what he has in the former fourth-rounder.
