The Jaguars are pushing to end a 10-year playoff drought and they’re at home and coming off a bye week for their Week 9 matchup against the Bengals.

Bengals vs. Jaguars

Point Spread: Jaguars -4.5

Date: Nov. 5, 1:00 PM ET

EverBank Field – Jacksonville, Florida

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Jacksonville opened as a 3.5-point favourite on the NFL odds board and was quickly bet up to 4.5-point chalk. The total is sitting at 39.5 points.

The Bengals are 3-4 straight up and against the spread after their first seven games this season. They’re coming off a 24-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts but failed to cover in the contest as 11-point home faves.

The Jags last played in Week 7 against the same Colts and won the game 27-0 as 3-point road favourites. Jacksonville is 4-3 SU and ATS but has lost two of its three home games this season. Cincy is also 4-1 ATS in its last five away dates.

Nearly 80 percent of NFL bets for this matchup are on the Jags to cover as 4.5-point chalk.

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincy running back Joe Mixon made headlines this weekend but not for anything he did on the field. The rookie out of Oklahoma complained about a lack of touches after his team’s Week 7 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mixon leads the Bengals in rushing attempts this season with 85 and is averaging 3.0 yards per carry.

The Bengals own the third worst rushing offense in the league behind only the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals.

Jacksonville Jaguars

One running back who isn’t complaining about a light load is Jacksonville’s Leonard Fournette. The rookie out of LSU has 732 combined yards from scrimmage and has found pay dirt seven times.

He sat out the game against the Colts due to a sore ankle but is expected to suit up and play on Sunday against the Bengals.

Jacksonville wasn’t completely inactive during its bye week. The Jags traded a sixth round pick in the 2018 draft for DT Marcell Dareus, the third overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Dareus is expected to bolster an already elite defensive line and only make life even more miserable for opposing quarterbacks when facing the Jags.

Jacksonville leads the NFL in QB takedowns with 33 and allows the fewest passing yards per game at 162.
