Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers are the biggest favourites on the Week 14 board as they welcome Joe Mixon and the battered and bruised Cincinnati Bengals to the West Coast. The Bolts look to add to Cincy’s miserable season and close the gap on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West division.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The season fell off a cliff for Marvin Lewis and the Cincinnati Bengals. They’ve lost six of their last seven games after starting the campaign 4-1 straight up. Cincy is 1-6 against the spread (ATS) in its last seven and 5-7 ATS overall this year.

It’s a different story in LA where the Chargers aren’t grabbing the same headlines as the 11-1 Rams, but they’re still just a game back of the Chiefs in the AFC West. The Bolts stand at 9-3 straight up after their win at Pittsburgh last week.

Los Angeles is 8-1 SU in its last nine games and 4-1 ATS in its last five. The Over is a combined 15-9 in games involving the Chargers or Bengals this season. The Over is also 5-1 in the Bengals’ last six road games.

Only four teams (the Rams, Saints, Chiefs and Patriots) have shorter odds to win the Super Bowl than the Chargers at Sports Interaction. The Bolts are listed at +1200 to lift the Lombardi Trophy and +375 to win the AFC West division.

Despite the 14-point spread, about 93 percent of Sports Interaction bettors like the Chargers to cover while 71 percent expect the game to go Over the 48-point total.

Cincinnati Bengals

For a second consecutive week, the Bengals lost a major player from their active roster. First it was starting quarterback Andy Dalton and now its wideout A.J. Green. The former Pro Bowl regular has dealing with a foot problem all season and the team decided surgery couldn’t be avoided any longer.

Green joins Dalton on the season IR list and leaves the Bengals with few offensive options. Cincy will continue to rely on Jeff Driskel to lead the attack from under centre while John Ross and Tyler Boyd should act as Driskel’s chief targets in the passing game.

Los Angeles Chargers

For years the Chargers have carried a reputation as a team that always leaves its fan base wanting more. They’ve made the playoffs just once in the last seven years despite elite talent at the quarterback position.

LA’s success doesn’t seem to be a flash in the pan. Dating back to last season, the Bolts have won 18 of their last 26 games and they’ve covered the spread in 15 of those last 26.
