49ers vs. Cardinals Point Spread: NFL Week 11 Odds, Prediction
The 49ers have fallen out of the NFC playoff picture while alternating between wins and losses during a middling 3-4 run and arrive in the desert on the rebound after suffering a decisive 42-26 defeat at the hands of the first-place Los Angeles Rams last weekend. Following a promising 2-0 start to the campaign, the Cardinals have quickly fallen off the page, losing six of seven, a run that features three straight home defeats and a crushing 44-22 loss in Seattle last weekend.
The 49ers lead the way as 3-point road favourites on the NFL Week 11 odds. The Cardinals trail as +135 underdogs on the NFL moneyline, and the total is listed at 48.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The 49ers were swept in last year’s season series with the Cardinals, but managed to eke out a narrow 16-15 victory when these teams met at Levi’s Stadium back in Week 3 to improve to 5-2 in their past seven meetings. However, the Niners remain a betting disappointment, failing to cover in each of their past three dates with the Cards including a brutal 47-25 loss in their last trip to Arizona in Week 18 of last season. The total has reached 50 in four of their past six dates, extending a steady 6-2 run for the OVER in totals betting. That is a trend that is set to consider given both these teams have regularly engaged in high-scoring affairs this season. While the Niners have managed to compile a respectable 6-4 SU record, they have failed to regularly reward loyal fans backing them on the NFL odds, going just 3-5 ATS in their past eight including a 1-2 ATS mark as betting chalk. The Cardinals are winless in two outings this season as home dogs, but have covered in four of their past six, with the UNDER going 5-1 over that stretch.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers hope to get a lift from the return of Brock Purdy on Sunday afternoon, but it remains to be seen how well the 25-year-old has recovered from the toe injury that has sidelined him since September, and how long it takes for him to shake off the rust. Purdy’s attempt to return to action in the team’s 26-21 loss to Jacksonville didn’t go as planes, with the Niners pivot tossing a pair of picks and re-aggravating that injury that has sidelined him since. Accordingly, expect a tentative start from Purdy, adding value to the -115 odds on the NFL player props of him compiling UNDER 54.5 passing yards in the first quarter, and after throwing two picks in each of his past three outings and at least one pick in each of his past games, Purdy should be backed as a -118 wager to toss at least one interception on Sunday.
Arizona Cardinals
With it looking increasingly likely that injured quarterback Kyler Murray’s season is done due to a foot injury, veteran journeyman Jacoby Brissett will once again lead the Cardinals offence on Sunday afternoon. Brissett has performed yeoman’s duty in relief of Murray, tossing for two TDs in each of his four starts while completing 60.9% of pass attempts and throwing just one pick. But with Marvin Harrison Jr on the shelf after a bout of appendicitis that required surgery this week and versatile running back Bam Knight hobbled by an ankle injury, expect Brissett to once again regularly target tight end Trey McBride, who is coming off a season-high 127-yard performance in Seattle. McBride has also been on the receiving end of five of Brissett’s eight TD passes to date. Accordingly, McBride should be taken as a -115 bet on the anytime TD scorer odds and as a +650 value wager to be the game’s first TD scorer.
