2024 NFL Odds and Betting Power Rankings – Week 3

The Buffalo Bills have vaulted to the top of our rankings in the wake of a dominating win over the arch-rival Miami Dolphins. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have also continued their meteoric climb, joining the top ten, while the Baltimore Ravens slide to the middle of the pack in the wake of a second straight defeat.

Here are the NFL Betting Power Rankings for Week 3.

1. Buffalo Bills
SU:  2-0

ATS: 1-1

Streak: W2

Super Bowl Odds: +1100

Last week’s ranking: 8

Notes: The Bills have soared to the top of the rankings in the wake of a 31-10 rout of the Dolphins and now lead the AFC with 65 points scored through two games.

2. Houston Texans
SU:  2-0

ATS: 1-0-1

Streak: W2

Super Bowl Odds: +1100

Last week’s ranking: 6

Notes: The Texans had their hands full against a stout Bears defence in last weekend’s 19-13 win. However, there is little reason to be concerned about a retooled Houston attack that has suddenly made this team a legit contender.

3. Kansas City Chiefs
SU:  2-0

ATS: 1-1

Streak: W2

Super Bowl Odds: +450

Last week’s ranking: 1

Notes: The Chiefs have done enough but have been far from dominant in their 2-0 start. KC needed a field goal with time expiring to eke out a 26-25 in over Cincinnati in Week 2 and have now seen each of their first two games get decided on the final play.

4. San Francisco 49ers
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: L1

Super Bowl Odds: +600

Last week’s ranking: 2

Notes: The 49ers fell flat in a stunning 23-17 loss to Minnesota in Week 2. No reason to be concerned yet, but a big performance versus the Rams in Week 3 would help restore confidence.

5. Detroit Lions
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: L1

Super Bowl Odds: +1200

Last week’s ranking: 5

Notes: The Lions needed overtime to get past the Rams in Week 1, but were unable to overcome a slow start last week, turning in a sloppy performance in a 20-16 loss to Tampa Bay in their first loss as betting chalk in five games.

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
SU:  2-0

ATS: 2-0

Streak: W2

Super Bowl Odds: +4000

Last week’s ranking: 13

Notes: The Texans’ new-look offence lived up to expectations in a narrow Week 1 win over Indianapolis, boding well for an upcoming four-game stretch that features three home dates.

7. Philadelphia Eagles
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: L1

Super Bowl Odds: +1200

Last week’s ranking: 3

Notes: For the second time in as many weeks, the Eagles were forced to play comeback in Week 12 but fell short in a 22-21 loss to the Falcons and must now find ways to be better on defence in a Week 3 date with the suddenly high-powered Saints.

8. Dallas Cowboys
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: L1

Super Bowl Odds: +2000

Last week’s ranking: 7

Notes: The Cowboys laid an egg in a one-sided loss to the Saints after dominating in a season-opening win over the stumbling Browns. Which version will show up this week against a surly Ravens squad searching their first win?

9. Los Angeles Chargers
SU:  2-0

ATS: 2-0

Streak: W2

Super Bowl Odds: +4000

Last week’s ranking: 11

Notes: The return of Justin Herbert has given the Chargers a big lift. However, it is JK Dobbins that has carried the Chargers attack. SU and ATS wins over the Raiders and Panthers are nice, but the Chargers face a tougher test versus the Steelers on Sunday.

10. Green Bay Packers
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: W1

Super Bowl Odds: +2500

Last week’s ranking: 12

Notes: No Jordan Love, no problem for the Packers, who leveraged a stingy defence in their 16-10 win over the Colts in Week 2. A favourable schedule benefits Green Bay while Love is on the mend.

11. New Orleans Saints
SU:  2-0

ATS: 2-0

Streak: W2

Super Bowl Odds: +2000

Last week’s ranking: 24

Notes: The Saints offence has been one of the big surprises of the new season, scoring 45.5 points per game in dominating wins over the Panthers and Cowboys.

12. New York Jets
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: W1

Super Bowl Odds: +1800

Last week’s ranking: 15

Notes: The Jets ended a six-game ATS winless slide with last weekend’s 24-17 comeback win over the Titans and kick off a four-game home stand with visits from the Patriots and Broncos that should have sports bettors salivating.

13. Baltimore Ravens
SU:  0-2

ATS: 0-2

Streak: L2

Super Bowl Odds: +1400

Last week’s ranking: 5

Notes: Things went from bad to worse for the Ravens in a 26-23 loss to the Raiders while pegged as the biggest favourites of Week 2. Things get no easier during an upcoming three-game stretch against the Cowboys, Bills, and Bengals.

14. Minnesota Vikings
SU:  2-0

ATS: 2-0

Streak: W2

Super Bowl Odds: +5000

Last week’s ranking: 21

Notes: Sam Darnold has revitalized his career while leading the Vikings to consecutive SU and ATS wins. The Minnesota defence has also stood tall, forcing four turnovers and limiting opponents to just 13 total second-half points. Can they keep it up in Week 3 versus the high-powered Texans?

15. Pittsburgh Steelers
SU:  2-0

ATS: 2-0

Streak: W2

Super Bowl Odds: +4000

Last week’s ranking: 16

Notes: The Steelers have vaulted to the early lead atop the AFC North on the strength of a ferocious defence, but must soon find ways to generate scoring ahead of a crucial stretch that starts on Sunday against the equally stingy Chargers.

16. Arizona Cardinals
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: L1

Super Bowl Odds: +6600

Last week’s ranking: 22

Notes: The doormats of the NFC for the past four years, the Cardinals appear to have turned the corner while going undefeated ATS including last week’s 41-10 rout of the Rams.

17. Atlanta Falcons
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: W1

Super Bowl Odds: +3500

Last week’s ranking: 19

Notes: Kirk Cousins and the Falcons overcame a tough loss to the Steelers with an impressive comeback victory over the Eagles in Week 2 , but still have work to do to overcome their current 2-9 ATS run.

18. Seattle Seahawks
SU:  2-0

ATS: 1-0-1

Streak: W2

Super Bowl Odds: +4000

Last week’s ranking: 20

Notes: The Seahawks are undefeated SU and ATS through Week 2 but are winless ATS in seven straight, a streak that isn’t helped by a rash of injuries.

19. Cincinnati Bengals
SU:  0-2

ATS: 1-1

Streak: L2

Super Bowl Odds: +2000

Last week’s ranking: 14

Notes: The Bengals rebounded from a sloppy loss to the Patriots to start the season and deserved better in their narrow loss to the Chiefs last weekend. Upcoming dates with the Panthers and Commanders should serve as a tonic.

20. Chicago Bears
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-0-1

Streak: l1

Super Bowl Odds: +5000

Last week’s ranking: 17

Notes: There is no doubting the calibre of the Bears defence, but Caleb Williams’ shaky debut leading a sputtering attack is a source of concern for sports bettors.

21. Las Vegas Raiders
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: W1

Super Bowl Odds: +15000

Last week’s ranking: 29

Notes: The Raiders are coming off the biggest upset of Week 2 in Baltimore and have won and covered in six of eight at home ahead of their first two dates of the season at Allegiant Stadium.

22. Cleveland Browns
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: W1

Super Bowl Odds: +5000

Last week’s ranking: 25

Notes: The Deshaun Watson sideshow has diminished the value of what is otherwise a solid Browns squad that should dominate in upcoming dates with the Giants and Raiders.

23. Miami Dolphins
SU:  1-1

ATS: 0-2

Streak: L1

Super Bowl Odds: +4000

Last week’s ranking: 10

Notes: The loss of Tua Tagovailoa indefinitely after suffering another concussion is devastating to this team’s hopes of taking the next step and to their betting prospects.

24. New England Patriots
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-0-1

Streak: l1

Super Bowl Odds: +30000

Last week’s ranking: 26

Notes: The Patriots came within a missed field goal of opening their season with consecutive upset wins. While the rebuild appears ahead of schedule, reality should set in when they face the Jets and 49ers in their next two games.

25. Los Angeles Rams
SU:  0-2

ATS: 0-2

Streak: L2

Super Bowl Odds: +6600

Last week’s ranking: 9

Notes: The Rams have fallen flat in two losses to open the season, getting outscored by a combined 67-30 margin in those contests.

26. Jacksonville Jaguars
SU:  0-2

ATS: 1-1

Streak: L2

Super Bowl Odds: +8000

Last week’s ranking: 18

Notes: Some things never change. That includes the Jaguars ability to find ways to lose. After posting stunning losses to Miami and Cleveland, things could quickly go south in upcoming clashes with the Bills and Texans.

27. Indianapolis Colts
SU: 0-2

ATS: 1-2

Streak: L2

Super Bowl Odds: +10000

Last week’s ranking: 23

Notes: The Colts have not held a lead since the first quarter of their Week 1 loss to Houston, and were dominated on both sides of the ball in last week’s 19-10 loss to the Packers.

28. Washington Commanders
SU:  1-1

ATS: 1-1

Streak: W1

Super Bowl Odds: +25000

Last week’s ranking: 30

Notes: The Commanders emerged victorious in last week’s Futility Bowl matchup with the visiting Giants, but hit the road for two games searching for their first victory in five games away from Northwest Stadium.

29. Denver Broncos
SU:  0-2

ATS: 1-1

Streak: L2

Super Bowl Odds: +30000

Last week’s ranking: 27

Notes: New quarterback, same problems for the Broncos, who have scored just one total touchdown through their first two games.

30. Tennessee Titans
SU:  0-2

ATS: 0-2

Streak: L2

Super Bowl Odds: +25000

Last week’s ranking: 28

Notes: The Titans have seized early leads in their first two games, but have scored just seven total second-half points, and now facing the daunting task of halting a 3-9-1 SU, 3-8-1 ATS slide during which they have been particularly brutal on the road.

31. New York Giants
SU:  0-2

ATS: 0-2

Streak: L2

Super Bowl Odds: +50000

Last week’s ranking: 30

Notes: The Giants offence sprang to life with three touchdowns in last week’s loss to Washington after mustering just six points in Week 1, but will likely have to lean on big defensive performances to halt their 0-2 ATS slide.

32. Carolina Panthers
SU:  0-2

ATS: 0-2

Streak: L2

Super Bowl Odds: +75000

Last week’s ranking: 31

Notes: Things have gone from bad to worse in Carolina. The Panthers have elected to bench beleaguered quarterback Bryce Young for Sunday’s date with the Raiders. Veteran Andy Dalton now is saddled with the task of trying to lead this team out of a 2-17 SU, 5-11-1 ATS free-fall that features four double-digit losses in their past seven games.
