2024 NFL Mock Draft and Betting Odds: QBs will fly off the board early
It’s the biggest week of the NFL off-season as the 2024 draft heads to Detroit. Round 1 kicks off Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET, Rounds 2-3 follow on Friday and Rounds 4-7 close out the week on Saturday.
We’re projecting every pick for the first round of the draft with a brief preview of who we believe will be the top 10 selections.

Projected top 10 picks
1. Chicago Bears (via Panthers) – QB Caleb Williams, USC
Caleb Williams is a slam dunk to be drafted first overall by Chicago. He has everything Bears fans are looking for in a franchise quarterback and his star potential blows Justin Fields out of the water (and out of Chicago entirely).
2. Washington Commanders – QB Jayden Daniels, LSU
Jayden Daniels is favoured to go to Washington and despite the Commanders reportedly kicking tires on other QBs, I think they’ll stick with Daniels. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner has a chance to thrive in Kliff Kingsbury’s offence.
3. New England Patriots – QB Drake Maye, UNC
Rather than trade down, the Pats will go with a quarterback. QB Drake Maye has high end star potential and with veteran Jacoby Brissett on the roster, New England can let Maye learn and develop at an easier pace.
4. Arizona Cardinals – WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State
Marvin Harrison Jr. is an easy pick as the best wide receiver available. The Cardinals need to give QB Kyler Murray as many options as possible and Harrison would complete a dangerous group of pass catchers that includes tight end Trey McBride and wide receivers Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch.
5. Minnesota Vikings *(Projected trade with Chargers) – QB J.J. McCarthy, Michigan

I’m predicting Minnesota will trade up and snag Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy before the Giants can get their hands on him. The Vikings need to replace Kirk Cousins and Sam Darnold is not the answer. McCarthy has all the traits to be a longtime NFLer and throwing to players like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson will be great for his development.
6. New York Giants – WR Malik Nabers, LSU
The Giants could trade up and take their luck with a quarterback, but the safer move is to pick a can’t-miss wide receiver like Malik Nabers. New York committed a lot of money to QB Daniel Jones last off-season and I think they give him one more shot to be the man, so their best bet is to make his life easier and give him a target like Nabers.
7. Chicago Bears *(Projected trade with Titans) – WR Rome Odunze, Washington
The Bears aren’t in desperate need of a receiver, but I still see them trading up and taking Rome Odunze to give future face of the franchise Caleb Williams another option. Odunze, DJ Moore and Keenan Allen would be a dangerous trio.
8. Atlanta Falcons – WR Brian Thomas, LSU
Brian Thomas is a pick that makes sense for Atlanta if they want to push their offence to an elite level. The Falcons already added Darnell Mooney and Rondale Moore in the off-season, but a player with Thomas’ size, speed and skill would bring this offence to the next level.
9. Tennessee Titans *(Projected trade with Bears) – OT Joe Alt, Notre Dame
Tennessee has a big hole at left tackle, so Joe Alt is an easy pick. Alt has the size and athleticism to make him a mainstay on the Titans’ offensive line for the next decade.
10. New York Jets – OL Troy Fautanu, Washington
Outside of the crushing loss of Aaron Rodgers in the first game of the season, the Jets had even more injury issues with their offensive line all year. Troy Fautanu’s athleticism and quick feet gives him the ability to play anywhere on the offensive line, a flexibility New York could really use.
