Colgate vs. Arkansas Bracket Prediction: March Madness Odds
We could be in for a shootout in Friday’s first round as two of the top offences in the country are set to go head-to-head. Undefeated since January, the Colgate Raiders are about to face their toughest test of the season, the Arkansas Razorbacks. Can Colgate keep their win streak alive, or will Arkansas bring them back down to reality?
Colgate Raiders vs. Arkansas Razorbacks NCAA Tournament Point Spread and Betting
As the No. 3 seed, it’s not surprising to see the Razorbacks as sizeable 8.5-point favourites over the No. 14 seeded Raiders. Both of these teams have covered the spread well this year. Colgate is 10-5 against the spread overall and have covered in six of their last eight games. Arkansas is 18-9 ATS, covering in eight of their last 10 games. Neither team has trended in either direction with the over/under. Something to keep in mind, Colgate only has one loss on the year, but they were strictly limited to Patriot League foes. Arkansas had the tougher schedule and is much more experienced in the Tournament.
(14) Colgate Raiders
The Raiders rode one of the highest scoring offences in the country to a nearly undefeated season and a Patriot League championship. While it’s true that they were limited to playing only Patriot League opponents, they made a statement in those games. Colgate averaged 86.3 points per game, which was second in the nation, and 12 of their 14 victories were by double-digit margins. This team lives and dies by their offence. The Raiders were led by conference player of the year Jordan Burns, who averaged team-highs in points per game (17.0), assists (5.4) and steals (1.6). Jack Ferguson and Nelly Cummings were also key pieces, combining for 24.9 points per game.
(3) Arkansas Razorbacks
In only his second season behind the bench, Eric Musselman has developed the Razorbacks into one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the SEC. Arkansas finished the regular season strong, stringing together eight straight wins before falling to LSU in the SEC Tournament. That loss shouldn’t define this team. This is the same Razorbacks roster that actually had an 81-66 blowout win over Alabama, the eventual SEC champs. Like Colgate, Arkansas has relied on their offence all season. They average 82.4 points per game, 7th in the nation. Moses Moody and JD Notae have been the key to this offence. Moody is putting up a team-high 17.4 points per game to go along with 5.9 rebounds (2nd on team) and 1.8 assists. Notae is averaging 13.3 points per game (2nd), 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and leads the team with 1.5 steals.
