Oral Roberts vs. Duke Bracket Prediction: Round of 64 March Madness Odds
For the first time since 1984, the Blue Devils will compete in the NCAA tournament without the retired Coach Mike Krzyzewski. Duke is coming off a Final Four berth last tournament where they fell to rival North Carolina. Oral Roberts is back dancing for the first time since reaching the Sweet Sixteen as a 15 seed in 2021.
The 30-4 Golden Eagles are on a 17-game win streak too, winning both the Summit League’s regular-season and tournament titles. Duke has won nine straight en route to an ACC title.
Tip-off at the Amway Center in Orlando starts at 7:10 p.m. EDT, with Duke a 6.5-point favourite and the total at 146 on the NCAAB odds.
Oral Roberts vs. Duke NCAA Tournament Point Spread and Betting
At face value, an Oral Roberts club that’s won 17 straight games while also entering as the nation’s third-highest scoring team may lead to a quick conclusion of taking the points and the over. But as of late, Oral Roberts has trended the opposite with each by covering in one of their last nine outings and six of their last seven going under the total. Oral Roberts is also 1-6 ATS in their last seven appearances as an underdog.
Duke’s the opposite too, covering in five of their last six and going 7-0 ATS in their last seven appearances in March. At neutral sites, the Blue Devils covered in five of their eight games and the under was 6-2.
Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (12)
Just like years past, Max Abmas is going to have put Oral Roberts on his back if they are to shock the country. Abmas posted at least 25 points in three of the Golden Eagles’ tournament games back in 2021, and was seventh in the country this season with 22.2 points per outing.
Oral Roberts’ other weapon is 7’5 centre Connor Vanover, a California and Arkansas transfer. Vanover is second on Oral Roberts with 12.9 points per game and his 3.3 blocks per game is second in the country. Despite his size Vanover knocked down 45 threes this season, and Abmas averaged over 3.5 a game. Both will need to be on their game to pull off the upset.
Duke Blue Devils (5)
A pair of freshman seven-footers in Kyle Filipowski and Dereck Lively make Duke’s frontcourt hard to miss. Filipowski has been the Blue Devils most consistent player, averaging a team-best 15.4 points and nine rebounds per game while recording back-to-back double-doubles to cap off the ACC tournament. Lively has multiple blocks in nine straight games.
Junior guard Jeremy Roach is the team’s second scoring option after Filipowski. Roach led all Duke players with 23 points on seven of 12 shooting in Saturday’s ACC title win, and the lone returning starter from last season’s Final Four run. And not to mention Jon Scheyer is in his first season as Duke’s head coach, so this blue blood is lacking experience this go around.
