Colorado vs. Florida State Bracket Prediction: March Madness Odds
The Seminoles are 1.5-point favourites on the college basketball odds with a total of 140.5.
Colorado vs. Florida State NCAA Tournament Point Spread and Betting
The winner will face either No. 8 LSU or No. 1 Michigan – I picked the Tigers in an upset – in the Sweet 16. The Pac-12 was considered perhaps the weakest of the power conference this season but it has represented well in the NCAA Tournament thus far. Florida State’s ACC definitely was not at its usual power level with Duke a massive disappointment and North Carolina going out meekly in the first round to Wisconsin.
It’s the first-ever matchup between these schools. Florida State is looking to make the Sweet 16 for the third consecutive NCAA Tournament and seventh all-time, while Colorado hasn’t reached the Sweet 16 since 1969. The Buffs are 1-4 against the spread in their past five NCAA Tournament games and the Seminoles 1-3-1 ATS in their past five.
Colorado Buffaloes
Colorado (23-8) looked as good as anyone in Round 1 with a 96-73 destruction of No. 12 seed and Big East Tournament champion Georgetown. The Buffs were 16-for-25 from three-point range, their most three-pointers made this season (or in any NCAA Tournament game ever) and highest shooting percentage (64) from deep.
Colorado’s leading three-point shooter entering the game, senior Jeriah Horne, finished 0-for-4 from long distance. However, seven different Buffs made at least one and freshman Jabari Walker was unconscious in shooting 9-for-10 overall and 5-for-5 from behind the arc to finish with a career-high 24 points. It was Colorado’s first NCAA Tournament win since 2012. The Buffs are 5-2 ATS in their past seven overall.
Florida State Seminoles
Florida State (17-6) wasn’t too threatened in a 64-54 win over No. 13 UNC Greensboro in the first round. The team did get a scare when senior guard and leading scorer MJ Walker limped off with just under 13 minutes left, but he was able to return. The 54 points allowed tied an FSU school record for fewest in an NCAA Tournament game and fewest it allowed all season.
Florida State completely dominated in the paint, outscoring UNCG there 44-16. It was the Seminoles’ sixth straight Big Dance opening-round victory. The Noles have advanced a least as far as the Sweet 16 in both of the last two NCAA Tournaments. Florida State is 0-3-1 ATS in its past four as a favourite.
