Raptors vs. Warriors

Point Spread: TBD

Date: Oct. 25, 10:30 PM ET

Oracle Arena – Oakland, California

Point Spread and Betting Analysis

This line was delayed as the injury bug has taken a bite out of the Raptors. Starting centre Jonas Valanciunas is reportedly out with an ankle injury and leading-scorer DeMar DeRozan is questionable with a thigh injury.

Golden State is 9-1 straight up in its last 10 games against Canada’s hoops team, but the Raptors have made things respectable against the league champs recently. Toronto is 2-1-1 ATS in its last four contests against the Dubs.

The Warriors picked up their first ATS win of the season on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks. Steve Kerr’s crew is 2-2 straight up and 1-3 against the spread in its first four games. They’ve played over the total in three of their four games as well.

Toronto lost and failed to cover as a 2.5-point dog at San Antonio on Monday, bringing its season ATS record to 2-1.

Raptors

Toronto missed Valanciunas against the long and lanky Spurs. San Antonio grabbed 18 offensive rebounds which led to 21 second-chance points. Valanciunas’ sore ankle is expected to keep him from playing Wednesday night against the Warriors.

The Raptors are attempting more triples than ever but they’re making them at a below league-average rate. Backup point guard Delon Wright is making just 10 percent of his 3-point tries and is taking more than three a game while starting wing Norm Powell is hitting just 30 percent of his bombs.

To beat a great team like the Warriors, the Raps will have to knock down their open looks from distance.

Warriors

It hasn’t been a great start for Golden State but maybe complacency was bound to creep in at some point. Warriors fans will argue some of their players are guilty of displaying too much passion – particularly All-Stars Steph Curry and Kevin Durant.

The two were both ejected for their actions during last week’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Curry was lucky to escape with a game suspension for throwing his mouthpiece in the direction of a referee.

Golden State smoked Dallas on Monday night but head coach Steve Kerr was not pleased with a showboat, off-the-backboard dunk Warriors rookie Jordan Bell executed in garbage time. Don’t be surprised if Bell doesn’t see much action against the Raptors as a measure of discipline.
