Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers Game 2 Prediction, NBA Odds

Game 1 was far from the expected result in this series as Minnesota ruined Luka Doncic‘s Lakers playoff debut by routing L.A. 117-95. The T-Wolves have already stolen home court advantage, but they can really put the pressure on L.A. by taking a 2-0 series lead home to Minnesota?

The Lakers are 5.5-point favourites to win Game 2 on the NBA odds, with the total set at 210.5.

Timberwolves vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds

The Timberwolves seem to have figured out L.A. as they’ve won three of the last four head-to-heads by an average margin of just over 20 points per game. Dating back to the regular season, Minnesota is a scorching hot 9-1 in their last 10 games.

The T-Wolves have now flipped the script on L.A., jumping from +155 series underdogs heading into Game 1 to -135 favourites to win the series on the NBA futures board entering Game 2.

Now’s the time to grab the Lakers if you still believe in Luka and co. L.A. is paying +100 to win the series after entering the playoffs as -190 Round 1 favourites.

Interestingly, Minnesota winning in six games and the Lakers in seven are both paying out at +350. At +900, the biggest long shot is L.A. storming back to win the next four games.

Three players really stood out for the Timberwolves in Game 1. Jaden McDaniels led the way with 25 points and nine rebounds, while Naz Reid had 23 points and Anthony Edward finished with 22 points, eight boards and nine assists. Minnesota took advantage of lax L.A. defending to make a franchise playoff-record 21 3-pointers on 42 attempts. Edwards and Julius Randle accounted for four 3-pointers each.

Los Angeles Lakers

You can’t put the Game 1 loss on Luka Doncic, who went off for a game-high 37 points and eight rebounds. LeBron James was the next highest scoring Laker with 19 points, while Austin Reaves had 16 points. Bronny James’ stat line consisted of zeros across the board in just over three minutes of playing time. The Lakers, who were outscored in each of the last three quarters, were outdone in almost every facet of the game from shooting percentage to rebounds and points in the paint.
