We’re down to the divisional finals in the CFL and a crossover team has survived.
The East Division will see the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit the Montreal Alouettes as 9.5-point underdogs on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
That will be followed up by a 6:30 p.m. ET start in Edmonton, with the Elks sitting as slim 1.5-point favourites over the BC Lions.
Here’s six stats that could determine the CFL’s division final games.

East Division Final: Blue Bombers at Alouettes
5,257 yards, 35 touchdowns, four interceptions
These are the passing stats for Montreal’s Davis Alexander this season. He finished second in the CFL in both passing yards and passing TDs and he was the clear-cut best quarterback in the league all year.
Alexander was incredibly consistent and responsible in 2026, throwing just four interceptions. For comparison, the other three starting QBs in the division finals’ each had double-digit picks.
106 yards, one touchdown
The Alouettes have easily been the most complete team in the CFL this season, but one of only two losses by double digits in 2026 came at the hands of the Blue Bombers, 44-28 in Week 13. Winnipeg running back Brady Oliveira was the star of that game, rushing for 106 yards and a touchdown.
It wasn’t the same story in Week 18 when Montreal got their revenge, 37-10, with Oliveira managing just 44 yards on seven less carries. Oliveira is the key to a potential Winnipeg upset.
3,282 receiving yards
The Alouettes duo of Tyson Philpot and Tyler Snead finished first and second in receiving yards this season, with 1.809 and 1,474, respectively. This very well could be the battle that determines the game as Winnipeg boasts the best passing defence in the CFL and they specifically used that to upset Toronto 25-22 in last week’s division semifinals.
Spread
West Division Final: Lions at Elks
11-0
A good start is crucial for the Lions as Edmonton is 11-0 this season when leading after three quarters.
Part of the reason for the Elks’ success is their ability to use the run-game to hold onto the ball and kill the clock. Justin Rankin was second in the regular season in rushing yards (1,170), while Cody Fajardo (517 yards) was the best rushing QB in the league.
24.3 points per game, 338.6 yards per game
Edmonton’s offence was a juggernaut this season, leading the league in both points allowed per game and yards allowed per game. The team has a knack for generating mistakes from opposing QBs as they turned 42 turnovers into 178 points, both league-highs.
Elks defensive players were all over the stats sheets during the regular season. Tyrell Ford led the league with seven interceptions, while Malik Carney and Kordell Jackson were No. 1 and 2 in forced fumbles. Carney and Noah Taylor were also second and third in sacks, with a combined 21.
Six
The BC Lions finished with six plays of 25 yards or more in their 33-26 win over Saskatchewan last week. Nathan Rourke and Zander Horvath, in particular, had spectacular moments that looked straight out of a video game.
Those types of plays are going to be necessary against the best defence in the CFL.
