The experts predicted it and what every basketball fan wants to see is about to go down, with Game 7 between the Rockets and Thunder set to go down on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.  The Thunder forced a final game in the series after a 104-100 win on Monday.

The Rockets opened as 5.5-point favourites on the NBA odds.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Rockets will be the home team for Game 7 and are 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games against a team with a winning record.  On the other side, the Thunder are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against Houston, but 0-6 ATS in their last six road games overall.

The total on Wednesday will be 219 points.  The under is 9-2 in the Rockets last 11 games playing on one days rest and 8-1 in the Thunder’s last nine games as an underdog between 5 to 10.5 points.

Oklahoma City Thunder

No one stood out more on Monday than Chris Paul.  After a slow start Paul dropped 15 points in the fourth quarter to finish with 28 points, seven rebounds and three assists.  The most impressive CP3 stat from the game is his overall importance.  The Thunder outscored the Rockets by 20 points with Paul on the floor in Game 6.

Danilo Gallinari was also huge for OKC on Monday.  Gallinari finished with 25 points, five rebounds and one assist and sealed the deal for the Thunder with two late free throws.  Rookie sensation Lu Dort, known for being a defensive thorn in Harden’s side this series, came up big on the other side of the ball.  Dort’s 8-0 run late in the third quarter was a huge momentum shift for the Thunder.  OKC is now 33-15 in clutch games this season (games that are within five points in the final five minutes).  If Dort can shut down Harden and the three-guard lineup plays like they have all season, we could very well see a Thunder win in Game 7.

Houston Rockets

Despite James Harden once again putting up a game-high in points for Game 6 (32 points, eight rebounds, seven assists) the Rockets were sloppy with the ball.  After averaging 11 turnovers through the series, Houston had an incredible 22 turnovers on Monday.  Russell Westbrook was the worst offender with seven turnovers (including an ugly one at the end of the game which all but sealed the OKC win), while Harden had five of his own.

The Rockets choked at the end of Game 6.  In the final four minutes they managed an abysmal 1-for-7 shooting, including three turnovers.  Monday was a train wreck for the Rockets but they are still the better team.  If Houston can simplify their attack and minimize turnovers, they should have the edge in Game 7.
