Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Los Angeles Lakers Prediction, NBA Odds
It will be a potential Western Conference semifinals preview when the Oklahoma City Thunder visit the Los Angeles Lakers as part of Tuesday’s 10-game NBA schedule. For that to become a reality, however, the Lakers have to get healthy. Right now, they are not. Both Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves are sidelined and will miss the remainder of the regular season. Los Angeles is currently fourth in the West, while Oklahoma City is close to clinching the top seed.
This marks the fourth and final head-to-head matchup of the 2025-26 campaign between these two teams. It’s also the second in the past six days. They just faced each other last Thursday in Oklahoma City, where the Thunder rolled 139-96 while improving to 3-0 against the Lakers this season.
OKC is a massive 17.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with the total pegged at 223.5.
Thunder vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds
The Thunder were -9.5 home favourites when they faced the Lakers last Thursday and had no trouble winning and covering. Both Doncic and Reaves were on the floor for L.A., so it’s no surprise that OKC was only favoured by single-digits. With those two players now sidelined, it makes sense that Oklahoma City is now a 17.5-point favourite – even on the road. The defending NBA champions have won their three meetings with the Lakers this season by a combined 81 points.
Oklahoma City is 3-1 against the spread in its last four games and 4-0 ATS in the last four head-to-head meetings. Los Angeles is 2-6 ATS in its last eight overall. As for the over/under, the over is 5-1 in the Thunder’s last six contests, 3-0 in the Lakers’ last three and 3-1 in the last four head-to-head showdowns.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Jalen Williams will be held out of Tuesday’s contest because of a hamstring problem, but it is nothing more than a load management decision with the Thunder embarking on a back-to-back situation (they face the Clippers on Wednesday). With Williams on the shelf, Cason Wallace and Ajay Mitchell should see more playing time. Isaiah Hartenstein could also shoulder a more significant scoring load. He has reached double-figures twice in three meetings with the Lakers, who are No. 20 in the NBA in points per game in the paint allowed.
The Thunder have won five in a row and 17 of their last 18 games. Following their 43-point romp over L.A. last Thursday, they destroyed the Jazz 146-111 on Sunday.
Los Angeles Lakers
Doncic is dealing with a hamstring injury and is going to Europe for specialized medical treatment in hopes of returning as quickly as possible for the playoffs. Reaves has an oblique issue that could be even more serious, as he is expected to miss four to six weeks.
Los Angeles followed up its lopsided loss to Oklahoma City by falling to the lowly Mavericks 134-128 on Sunday. LeBron James finished with 30 points, 15 assists and nine rebounds, but predictably did not get much help given that Doncic and Reaves were out. James logged 39 minutes in that contest and recorded 117 total touches – his most in a single game since 2021.
NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Thunder vs. Lakers?
Fatigue could be a factor for James, who had to do everything against the Mavericks. In fact, the 41-year-old might not even play on Tuesday – he is questionable with a foot injury. Although every remaining game is important for the Lakers, they obviously have little chance to win this one and therefore could elect to rest James prior to more winnable matchups with the Warriors, Suns and Jazz. Regardless, OKC should once again handle L.A. with ease, somewhere in the region of 123-103.
