Phoenix Suns vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction, NBA Odds

The Raptors start a two-game homestand on Friday night by welcoming Devin Booker and the surprising Phoenix Suns in their first meeting of the season. Toronto is -4.5 on the NBA odds with a total of 218.5.

Suns vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

This was supposed to be a rebuilding year in Phoenix after the Suns traded future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant to Houston in the off-season, but the Suns are essentially locks to be at worst a member of the Western Conference play-in tournament, and they could get into the top-six and avoid that altogether. But the team isn’t a threat to go deep in the West.

The loss of swingman Dillon Brooks, a native of Mississauga and part of the return from the Rockets in that Durant trade, for four to six weeks to a broken hand suffered late last month probably locks the team into the play-in. Brooks was having his best NBA season, including averaging a career-high 20.9 points per game. He always has been a good defender/pest.

Centre Mark Williams, acquired during the 2025 NBA draft from Charlotte, also is sidelined currently with a broken bone in his left foot. He was having a solid season, averaging 11.6 points on 63.6 per cent from the field along with 8.1 rebounds.

Friday is the first meeting of the season between these clubs with Toronto visiting the desert on March 22. They split last season, each winning easily at home. Phoenix is 6-4 SU in the past 10 meetings overall but 4-6 ATS. The over-under is 3-6-1.

Phoenix Suns

The Suns won their fourth game in a row Thursday, 123-108 at Indiana behind 43 points from Devin Booker and 36 from Jalen Green. Booker is now averaging 31.8 points per game in his last five. It was close at the half, but then the tanking Pacers essentially sat all their good players the rest of the way. Guard Grayson Allen (17.3 PPG) was out for Phoenix with a thumb issue but likely only as it was the front end of a back-to-back, so Allen should play on Friday.

Allen is one of four Suns players to have made the game-winning basket in the final seven seconds of regulation or OT this season along with Booker, Green and Collin Gillespie — Gillespie has become only the fifth player to make at least 200 three-pointers in a season. He’s having a breakout year. The Suns are 5-2 ATS in their past seven.

Toronto Raptors

Toronto lost for the sixth time in eight games on Wednesday, 122-111 at a bad Pelicans team. It was Brandon Ingram’s first game back in New Orleans since last season’s trade, and he had 22 points, six rebounds, five assists, and career-high tying four steals. Ingram reached 11,000 career points to become the 54th active player in the NBA to hit that milestone. Over his last three games against the Suns, all while with the Pelicans, Ingram has averaged 24.7 points while shooting 50.3 per cent from the field.

The Raptors outscored New Orleans 26-13 in fast-break points and continue to lead the NBA in such at 18.9 per game. Phoenix is middle of the pack at 14.8 fast-break points per. Centre Jakob Poeltl returned Wednesday after missing Tuesday with an illness and had eight points and five rebounds in 30 minutes. As this is not part of a back-to-back, Poeltl should be good to go. But Scottie Barnes is questionable with an illness. It’s the Raptors’ fifth game in a row vs. the Western Conference, and they are 9-13 against it.
