San Antonio Spurs vs. Houston Rockets Prediction, NBA Odds
The 2025-26 NBA regular season has reached the halfway point, and hoops fans have another loaded slate across the Association to look forward to on Wednesday. In what is arguably the biggest matchup on the slate, the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets will square off in a battle between two teams with real aspirations of winning the Western Conference and appearing in the NBA Finals in June.
With tip-off set for 9:30 p.m. ET, let’s get into the odds and betting trends, plus my predictions for this massive Western Conference clash in Houston tonight.
Spurs vs. Rockets NBA Betting Odds
To their credit, both of these teams have been among the best in the Western Conference this season. These rivals have squared off multiple times already, and each game has produced plenty of fireworks.
San Antonio carries a 31-15 record heading into this one, and the market has been quick to adjust to the Spurs’ newfound success this season. However, oddsmakers are pointing to Houston in this game, as the Rockets are 2.5-point home favourites, to go along with a fairly low game total of 221.5.
Through the first half of the campaign, the Spurs are 23-22 against the number, indicating that the market has been fairly accurate with this upstart San Antonio team. As for the hosts, the Rockets are just 21-23 against the spread, while games involving Houston are 23-20-1 to the Under.
San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs will go as far as Victor Wembanyama will take them this season, and that could be all the way to the NBA Finals. However, it’s more likely that San Antonio exits in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs and needs to make some tweaks to its roster before truly becoming a serious contender. We have seen the Spurs play up to their competition all season long, including in a couple of excellent wins over the Thunder in games that captured the national spotlight.
With that said, San Antonio has lost its last three road games against playoff teams (Minnesota, Oklahoma City, and Houston), as the Spurs might be coming back down to earth a bit. From a metrics perspective, the Spurs don’t have many flaws — with San Antonio checking in at eighth in offensive rating and third in defensive rating on the season. However, it remains to be seen whether that success stems from beating weaker teams or if the Spurs are an elite unit.
Houston Rockets
Things have been looking up for the Rockets in recent weeks, as Houston enters this game having won six of its last 10 contests, including a couple of massive victories over the Pistons, Timberwolves, and most importantly, the Spurs. Much like their opponent on Wednesday, the Rockets have excellent metrics (fourth-ranked offence, eighth-ranked defence) and are a well-rounded bunch that has proven themselves to be among the league’s best.
Fred VanVleet’s presence was expected to be missed at the beginning of the season, but Reed Sheppard has filled in admirably in his shoes at point guard. Elsewhere, Kevin Durant has fit like a glove into the Houston offence, while Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson continue to raise their level as their young careers continue to develop.
NBA Prediction: Who Will Win Spurs vs. Rockets?
This is a game that should be close from start to finish, but it’s hard to ignore the Rockets, given that Houston will be at home and is playing some of its best basketball of the season in recent games. The Rockets win this one 110-107.
