Raptors vs. Warriors Odds, Prediction: Game 6 NBA Finals

It will be an emotional night in Oakland on Thursday as the Golden State Warriors play their last-ever game at Oracle Arena and try to force a Game 7 of the NBA Finals back in Toronto against the Raptors.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

OK, be honest Raptors fans. Sure, you were hoping the Dinos would clinch their first NBA title at home in Game 5 on Monday night. But, wouldn’t you ideally prefer two more games of basketball to watch and bet on here at Sports Interaction and then have Toronto clinch at home in Game 7 (which would be Sunday night)? That could be scenario now as Golden State forced a trip back to Oakland with a 106-105 victory Monday.

While it was a madhouse at Scotiabank Arena in Game 5, it should be just as crazy at Oracle Arena on Thursday for Game 6 as it’s the last time the Warriors will play in their long-time home. They are moving to a new arena in San Francisco next season, and essentially going from Oakland’s neighborhood team to a corporate entity in one of the most opulent sports buildings in the world.

On the updated odds to win the NBA title, the Raptors are -333 and Warriors +220. The favoured winning margin in Game 6 is Warriors by 3-6 points at +450.

Toronto Raptors

The Raptors probably didn’t deserve to win Game 5 as they trailed most of the way and only took the lead late in the fourth quarter when Kawhi Leonard with nuts with 10 straight points to give his team a 103-97 lead with just over three minutes left. Soon after, coach Nick Nurse called a timeout, which left many in the media scratching their heads as you don’t want to stem your own team’s momentum. The Raptors would be outscored 9-2 the rest of the way.

With a chance to win in the final seconds, the Warriors double-teamed Leonard to make sure he wasn’t the one taking the shot. The ball ended up in the ends of Kyle Lowry for a corner three-pointer that was contested by Draymond Green and not close. The Raptors lost this game at the three-point arc, being outscored by 36 points there. Danny Green was 0-for-4 from deep.

Golden State Warriors

Like or hate the Warriors, it was heartbreaking to see Kevin Durant go down with an apparent Achilles injury in the second quarter as he finally made his return from a calf injury suffered in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals. Durant had been magnificent in his 12 minutes with 11 points and 3-for-3 from deep. The Warriors looked like a completely different team with him back. Durant went down without contact and his season is surely over. In fact, if it’s a torn Achilles, as many fear, his 2019-20 season might be over already (at least most of it would be) and that could drastically shift the landscape of this summer’s free-agent market to the point it may have a trickle-down effect to Leonard. In addition, the Warriors lost big man Kevon Looney to a reaggravated chest injury, and it’s not clear if he will play Game 6.

Golden State won because Steph Curry and Klay Thompson were great as usual, scoring or assisting on 77 of the Warriors’ 106 points. Thompson made two three-pointers and Curry one in that closing 9-2 run. DeMarcus Cousins also played well in the series for the first time since Game 2, which was the Dubs’ other win. One thing to monitor: If Green gets a technical in Game 6, he would be suspended for a potential Game 7.
