Raptors vs. Hawks NBA Betting Odds
The two best players traded during this NBA season have both been by Toronto in OG Anunoby to New York and Pascal Siakam to Indiana. The next best one to be dealt very likely could be Atlanta guard Dejounte Murray.
In June 2022, Atlanta landed the All-Star from San Antonio for three first-round picks and a pick swap. Murray and Trae Young were supposed to form one of the East’s best backcourts. Both have very good numbers individually, but it’s not working team success wise, and the Hawks want to recoup some of the draft capital the lost by shipping Murray out ahead of free agency. He likely won’t be the only player dealt off this underachieving roster.
Toronto hosted Atlanta in a two-game “baseball”-type series in mid-December and each team won a high-scoring matchup by at least seven points. Scottie Barnes is averaging 25.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists in the season series. Siakam also had good numbers. Young is averaging 36.5 points in the two, and Murray 18.5 points, 7.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds.
The all-time series is now tied 52-all and the Hawks lead 27-24 at home, winning the past two. The Dinos are 6-4 ATS in the past 10 meetings overall.
Toronto Raptors
The Dinos are off their fourth loss in a row, 127-107 at home to the Clippers on Friday. Kawhi Leonard has now gone 8-0 against Toronto since leaving the Raptors following their 2019 NBA championship. Scottie Barnes scored 14 of his game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter of the loss. He leads all players age 22-or-younger with most total points in the final frame (280) and fourth most overall across the NBA. Barnes is also first in steals (22) and in minutes played (398), second in total rebounds (113) and third in assists (76) among all players in the fourth quarter this season. Bruce Brown made his first start for Toronto, taking the place of injured guard Immanuel Quickley (sore right quadriceps). Quickley is out again Sunday. Jakob Poeltl is doubtful and Jontay Porter probable. Thad Young got a rare start Friday and had a season-high-tying 12 points on 6-for-6 from the field.
Atlanta Hawks
Atlanta dropped its fourth game in a row Friday against Dallas, 148-143, as the bad defensive team allowed Luka Doncic to score 73 points, a franchise record and the fourth-most in league history. Hawks All-Star guard Trae Young had 30 points and 11 assists for his 27th double-double of the season after missing two straight in the concussion protocol. Young’s 12 games with at least 30 points and 10 assists are the most in the Eastern Conference, and he’s now tied with Hall of Famer Jerry West (63) for the sixth-most such games in NBA history. The Hawks have reached 140 points four times this season, tied for the second most such games in franchise history. Forwards De’Andre Hunter remains sidelined by injury. Hawks assistant coach Brittni Donaldson was an assistant coach for the Raptors during the 2019-21 seasons and also an assistant on Raptors 905 during the 2021-22 campaign.
