Raptors vs. Grizzlies Point Spread: NBA Odds, Prediction
The Memphis Grizzlies have been one of the top home teams in the NBA so far this season – but you wouldn’t know it from their previous game. The Grizzlies look to bounce back from an ugly showing last time out as they host the NBA-leading Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night. Memphis suffered just its second home loss of the season Sunday night, dropping a 103-98 decision to a New York Knicks team that has just seven wins in its first 21 games.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Memphis is a modest home underdog against a red-hot Raptors team that has won five consecutive games – but bettors shouldn’t sleep on the home side. In addition to having covered 10 of their previous 12 home games, the Grizzlies are 5-2 ATS in their past seven as a home underdog, with four of those games producing straight-up victories. That said, Toronto comes in having covered in each of the previous four head-to-head meetings.
From a totals perspective, these teams have been one of the most consistent under plays of any head-to-head pairing, having gone below the number in 28 of their past 36 matchups. And while Toronto has gone 15-7 to the over in its past 22 games overall, Tuesday’s game marks just the second time these teams have had a total above 204. The Raptors are also 16-3 to the under in their past 19 games against teams above .500.
Toronto Raptors
As impressive as the Raptors have been from a win-loss perspective during their franchise-best start to the season, even more astounding is how easy they’ve made it look. Toronto’s plus-9.0 scoring differential is second-highest in the NBA to the Milwaukee Bucks – and four of their five wins during their current streak have been by double digits. Next on the Raptors’ list: ending a trend that has seen them go just 3-8 ATS in their past 11 vs. the Western Conference.
Memphis Grizzlies
Something about facing teams from the Atlantic Division brings out the bizarre in the Grizzlies. They’re just 7-15 ATS in their previous 22 games vs. teams from the division, while going 8-2 O/U in their last 10. But any team that holds teams to an average of 100.9 points – the lowest mark in the NBA – can beat just about any opponent on a given night – even one as good as the Raptors, who average a whopping 116.7 points per game.
