The Detroit Pistons snapped a three-game losing streak in their latest outing by beating the Oklahoma City Thunder. They haven’t stumbled into many wins this season as that was just their second in their last 10 games.
Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have won three straight and four out of their past five. The Eastern Conference champs are starting to cook right now. Are they in for an easy win against the NBA betting odds on Wednesday?
Boston is a heavy 13-point favourite to win.

The Pistons are currently 10-3 ATS in their past 13 games when coming off of a straight-up win, so they might be competitive in this spot. Also, they have covered four straight in this series. When it comes to the Celtics, they are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall and 1-6 ATS in their past seven games when playing against a team with a winning percentage below .400. Outside of them, other young stars like Saddiq Bey, Jaden Ivey, Isaiah Stewart, and Jalen Duren have played pretty substantial roles in this team. Ivey is coming off a strong outing as he had 15 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. The challenge is that even against the Thunder, the Pistons had to dig out of a 15-point deficit. If they perform like that at Boston, they’ll lose by double digits.
Boston Celtics
The Celtics are beating teams with their talented offence, which ranks third in the league in points scored per game. Forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown lead the way with Tatum at 31.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists a night and Brown has 24.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.
Boston also has stellar role players that have really played large factors in their success. Malcolm Brogdon is pitching in 14.2 points from the bench, Marcus Smart is adding on 11.2 points and 6.6 dimes while providing excellent defence.
This team is averaging 118.8 points per game over their last six. The Pistons are one of the league’s worst defences (26th in points per game allowed), so the Celtics should have an easy time of things on Wednesday.
