The Warriors have taken many nights off this season – including an early matchup with Denver – but it seems like when they’re focused, they’re unbeatable. Denver is their top challenger in the West and they would like to send a message that they are not vulnerable, as many would have you believe. We’ll see if that’s the case or whether the Nuggets can pull out a huge win and pull into a tie for the top spot.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The Nuggets are coming off a loss but they have been a decent rebound team of late as they are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss. They are 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven meetings between the teams but overall, they are just 1-4 ATS in their last five games against opponents with a winning percentage above .600.
Golden State is 27-11 at home but they’ve been a lousy bet against the spread at Oracle Arena. They are 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 home games. However, they are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against opponents with a winning percentage above .600.
Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets are showing signs of weakening in recent weeks. This is a young team who hasn’t been in this position before, so it is possible that they’re fading as we approach the finish line. This is a team that has dropped three of five, including a hideous loss at home to the hapless Washington Wizards.
Denver’s offence has completely disappeared. They scored just 90 at home to the Wizards, which is unfathomable. This team scored just 105.4 points per game in March, which was the third-fewest. They’re getting smoked in the paint these days as they were 25th in opposing points in the paint allowed in March, which is a big concern.
This team has to figure out a way to turn these stats around on Tuesday. Golden State has won the last two meetings by 17 and 31. A similar result could be brewing unless Denver gets it together.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors remain erratic, but as the betting trends show, they are doing well against teams with good winning percentages. They’ll have their hiccups, as evidenced by a bizarre loss in Minnesota on Friday and a floor-mopping at home at the hands of Dallas last Saturday. At the same time, they do tend to beat the teams they need to beat – when they want to.
Although there have been shaky moments, this team has still won seven of their last 10. They were 10th in points per game allowed in the month of March while finishing second in points scored. It’s just a matter of motivation for this team and with plenty on the line on Tuesday, look for them to handle a struggling Nuggets side.
