Toronto fell a bucket short of snapping a five-game losing skid on Monday, dropping a 122-121 home court decision against the Chicago Bulls. The Nets also lost on Monday in a 130-101 blowout against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Raptors are 3.5-point favourites to win on the NBA odds, with the total listed at 219.5.

Nets vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

Brooklyn has won seven of the last 10 games between these teams, including three of four last season. Toronto’s only win came on home court, 121-93, when they were listed as 1.5-point favourites. Overall, however, the Nets have covered the spread in seven of the last nine head-to-heads.

Covering is something both teams have managed to do consistently this season. The Raptors boast the second-best cover rate in the NBA at 18-8-1 ATS, while Brooklyn is tied for eighth at 15-10-1 ATS.

Both teams have split the Over/Under fairly evenly, but there’s reason to believe this could be a lower scoring game. Four of the last five head-to-heads played in Toronto have played the Under and eight of the last nine overall have finished below the number.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets trailed early against Cleveland and never really stood a chance, trailing 72-40 by halftime. Despite the beatdown, Cameron Johnson led all shooters in the game with 22 points, while Day’Ron Sharpe had 15 points and seven rebounds. It was Brooklyn’s first game since trading point guard Dennis Schroder to Golden State and it could be a sign of things to come as they shot just 42 per cent from the field as a team.

With Schroder gone, there is belief Johnson could be the next player moved. Teams have been able to get a good look at Johnson as he has been the go-to guy with Cam Thomas out with a hamstring injury since November 25. Thomas, who averages a team-high 24.7 points per game, is close to returning but he won’t play on Thursday.

Toronto Raptors

RJ Barrett continued his hot start to the season on Monday, finishing with a game-high 32 points. Barrett, who averages team-highs in points (23.5) and assists (6.1), has been particularly effective at home, averaging 28.3 ppg at Scotiabank Arena. Gradey Dick has also been a key player this season. Dick put up 27 points against Chicago and he sits third in team-scoring at 18.5 ppg, trailing only Barret and Scottie Barnes (20.6 ppg).

Speaking of Barnes, he’s listed as questionable on Thursday after missing the last two games with a sprained right ankle. The status of Jakob Poeltl and Immanuel Quickley is more concrete, with both players listed as out against the Nets. Poeltl, who is averaging a double-double this season (15.5 ppg, 11.0 rebounds), strained his groin last game. Quickley (partially torn UCL) has no timeline for his return.
