Each club is coming off hard-fought matches on Wednesday, but only the Nets took the spoils, fighting back to down the Heat in Miami 109-105. Chicago seemingly did everything it could to get a win in Dallas, but the Mavericks pushed away late for a 114-105 final.

Nets vs. Bulls NBA Betting Odds

Given that no NBA In-Season Tournament matches have ever been played before, we’ll remain content to provide a head-to-head comparisons with regular season material.

The Bulls won last year’s regular season series, taking three of the four games they had against the Brooklyn Nets. It goes without saying that last year was a strange one for Brooklyn, who don’t sport quite the same roster as they did at the time the 2022-2023 matches transpired. Interestingly, for a club that can struggle to score buckets, the Bulls scored well over 100 points all four times, even in the game the Nets won. Brooklyn has won twice in Chicago over the past two seasons.

Whatever their straight-up record shows, betters should be keenly aware that the Nets are a perfect 4-0 ATS so far. More promising is that they have been underdogs three times yet still prevailed, albeit not always on the final scoreline. Brooklyn contests are high-scoring affairs, with a trio hitting the over thus far.

Chicago has not performed so well against the spread, but nor have they in the standings. Even so, 1-4 is nothing to write home about. The only time they were successful was against the Pacers, but that’s a struggling outfit at the moment. The under has earned the spoils in three of the five tilts.

Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn was perilously close to starting the season 1-3, but a bold second half comeback showed that this is a team with some moxie, despite that they don’t demonstrate it consistently.

The Heat were up by 16 in the third quarter through excellent shooting and defence, but a combination of them going cold and smart Nets defence turned the tide. The fourth quarter was utter domination by the visitors, 34-22. What turnovers hurt the Nets early started to afflict the Heat late (both sides finished with 18 in an occasionally sloppy game). While it was nice to see that Mikal Bridges is having a decent Nets career (21 points), it was the bench that erupted to save the day. Both Lonnie Walker IV and Armoni Brooks netted 17 points. The latter was terrifying from three-point land, nailing five of his six shots. Trendon Watford was no slouch either, adding 11 of his own. What looked like a bad night ended with a solid 109-105 victory.

Chicago Bulls

Much like Brooklyn played as best it could on the road against a tough opponent, so too did the Bulls versus the Mavericks. The big difference was that Dallas never got cold, kept making baskets, and handed Chicago a 114-105 loss.

Fans of back-and-forth affairs and good offence were treated to a great game. Chicago shot 47.2 per cent and Dallas 45.7 despite Kyrie Irving’s absence and a pedestrian evening from Luka Doncic (18 point). Seeing Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, and DeMar DeRozen hit 20 points or close to is good because that’s largely what the Bulls need to be successful consistently (although DeRozan took a while to get going). Jevon Carter continues to make himself a key component of the lineup with a 12-point night in only 15 minutes off the bench. All in all, it was an honourable performance that on a better day would have earned the visitors a win to savour. But Dallas’ offensive contributions were just a bit better.
