Magic vs. Raptors NBA Odds, Prediction and Picks: Leonard, Banchero Sidelined in Toronto
The Raptors return home Wednesday for the first of two straight games at Scotiabank Arena against the Orlando Magic, and both teams are missing arguably their best player. Toronto is -5.5 on the NBA odds with a total of 223.5 points.
Magic vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds
The Orlando Magic are one of those NBA teams somewhat stuck in purgatory. They are absolutely good enough to get back to the playoffs and maybe even win a round after nearly upsetting the top-seeded Detroit Pistons in Round 1 of the 2026 playoffs – Orlando blew a 3-1 series lead.
But the Magic are simply not good enough to make major noise in the Eastern Conference. Their best player is a very good player in former No. 1 overall pick and NBA Rookie of the Year Paolo Banchero, but he’s not really a true superstar who can carry a team to a championship. Probably better-suited for being the No. 2 like say a Scottie Barnes to Kawhi Leonard on the Raptors. And the Dinos catch a break because Banchero is out weeks with a high-ankle sprain.
Wednesday is the first of four regular-season meetings between the clubs. The Raptors won the 2025-26 series 2-1. Brandon Ingram, now with the LA Clippers, led Toronto in averaging 26.0 points, while Barnes put up 18.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists. Banchero led the Magic in averaging 22.9 points and 8.4 rebounds in the series.
They have split the past 10 meetings SU & ATS overall, and the over under is 4-6 in them.
NBA Player Odds and Props
For Toronto, take RJ Barrett for at least 20 points as his shot attempts should go way up with Kawhi Leonard out. On Orlando, back Franz Wagner for at a PRA (points + rebounds + assists) of at least 30 as he will be the main man with two Magic starters down.
Orlando Magic
Not only are the Magic without Paolo Banchero, but starting guard Jalen Suggs suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s 111-102 upset win at the New York Knicks. It was actually good news that it was only a mild bone bruise. Suggs has had trouble staying healthy in recent seasons and is averaging 8.0 points, 5.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds this year. That was Orlando’s first victory of the year after dropping its first two at home. And on the bright side, guard Anthony Black made his season debut Sunday off injury and finished with 18 points and five assists. He becomes that much more important with especially Suggs sidelined. Black is often the team’s Sixth Man but may move into the starting lineup now for first-year
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors played without Kawhi Leonard for the first time this season on Sunday and they suffered their first loss, 117-94 at a very good Minnesota team. Scottie Barnes had been off to a nice start but had one of the worst games of his career at 0-for-12 from the field for zero points and a minus-27 rating in 28 minutes. Fellow starter Jakob Poeltl also was blanked in 19 minutes. And the Dinos will have to get used to play without Leonard as the team announced Tuesday that the former Finals MVP will miss weeks due to swelling in his left knee. An MRI showed no structural damage and at least it’s not his right knee, where he previously has had several surgeries. Leonard is averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals. Ja’Kobe Walter replaced Leonard in the starting lineup Sunday and scored 22 points in 31 minutes. It was only his fourth career 20-point game. The Raptors enter having won five of their last six games against the Magic, including three straight at home.
