The Lakers remain solidly within the top-six of the Western Conference standings despite Tuesday’s 118-104 loss in Philadelphia. It’s been a complete disaster, however, for the Wizards. Washington is dead last in the NBA, with their losing streak hitting 15 games after a blowout loss against the Raptors on Wednesday.

L.A. is an 8.5-point favourite to win on the NBA odds, with the total pegged at 223.5.

Lakers vs. Wizards NBA Betting Odds

The Lakers have won five straight games in head-to-head action, including a 111-88 rout of the Wizards in Los Angeles on Jan. 21. Anthony Davis went off for a game-high 29 points against Washington last week, but he’ll be sidelined with a strained abdominal muscle in this one.

L.A. clearly comes in as the hotter team. The Lakers have won four of their last five games overall and six of their last seven against Eastern Conference opponents. Washington’s nightmare season has seen them drop 15 straight games overall and they’re winless in their last 14 against Western Conference opponents.

It’s paid to bet on Wizards’ games this season, but only if you take their opponents and fade Washington. The Wizards are 17-28-1 against the spread, the second-worst mark in the NBA. L.A. is an even 22-22-1 ATS, although they are just 9-13-1 ATS on the road.

Both teams have split the Over/Under fairly evenly this season. History points to a higher scoring game on Thursday as five of the last seven head-to-heads have hit the Over.

Los Angeles Lakers

Bronny James saw his first meaningful NBA minutes on Tuesday, combining with his father LeBron to score 31 points. The problem is, all 31 came from the elder James. Bronny further proved he is not ready to be a legit NBA player after he shot 0-for-5 from the field in a little over 15 minutes of playing time. The father-son duo could stick around for the next few games, however, as Davis is expected to miss at least a week of action. Clearly that’s a hit for the Lakers as Davis leads the team in points (25.7), rebounds (11.9), steals (1.3) and blocks (2.1) per game.

With Davis out, even more of the load with fall on LeBron to perform. Thursday in Washington is a great time to take the Over on LeBron’s totals. He already dropped a triple-double of 21 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists last week against the Wizards and he’s facing the worst team in the NBA which is also playing the second half of a back-to-back.

Washington Wizards

A terrible season hit a new low for Washington on Wednesday as they were blown out by a team that’s not exactly in win-now mode in the Toronto Raptors. Leading scorer Jordan Poole (20.7 ppg) was held to just three points agains the Raptors as the Wizard finished with a season-worst 27 turnovers. Kyle Kuzma was the lone bright spot with a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds.

Where do you even start when it comes to just how bad Washington is this season? The Wizards have one of the worst offences in the NBA with an average of 107.2 ppg and their defence gives up an NBA-high 122.0 ppg. The team ranks near the bottom of the NBA in almost every major offensive and defensive category and they’ve almost seemed to get worse as the season has gone on. Playing the second half of a back-to-back doesn’t help matters, they’ll be in tough against the Lakers.
