Lakers vs. Timberwolves Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
LeBron James and company are leaving Tinseltown and heading to Minnesota for a meeting with the last place Timberwolves on Tuesday. L.A. comes into this game as a heavy favourite to win on the NBA odds.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
As usual with any LeBron James team, the Lakers have a high scoring offence. L.A. has hit the Over in five straight games and 12 games overall. The Lakers are 13-15 against the spread, covering five times at home and eight times on the road.
Despite how tough the season has been for Minnesota, they may have more going for them in this game than people realize. The Timberwolves have won seven straight games at home against L.A. Minnesota is 14-12-1 ATS this season and they have hit the Over in 13 of 27 games.
Los Angeles Lakers
Things turned out about as bad as they possibly could have in L.A.’s 122-105 loss to the Nuggets on Sunday. Not only did the Lakers have their seven-game win streak snapped, they also lost Anthony Davis to a possible Achilles injury. It doesn’t appear like Davis ruptured his Achilles, so he won’t miss major time, but he’s not expected to return before the March 5-10 All-Star break. With Davis out, Kyle Kuzma will likely take his spot. Kuzma had 19 points and right rebounds on Sunday and is averaging 11.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game this season.
Minnesota Timberwolves
It hasn’t been a good year for Minnesota. The Timberwolves have the worst record in the NBA and they have only picked up three wins in their last 10 games. Minnesota is, however, coming into this game off a 116-112 upset win over the Raptors on Sunday. Karl-Anthony Towns and Malik Beasley each had a team-high 20 points in the win. Towns has been productive in the three games he has played since returning to the lineup after a bout with COVID-19. He leads the team in points per game (21.6) and rebounds (11.3).
