The Lakers and Nuggets will meet on Sunday for the second time this season.  Denver fell 114-93 in L.A. on Feb. 4, but they’ll be looking for some revenge as the home team this time around.

The Lakers are 3.0-point favourites to win on the NBA odds with a total of 217.0.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

L.A. has been even more dominant on the road than at home this year.  The Lakers are 12-2 away from the Staples Center and have covered the spread in eight of those games.  L.A. is 13-14 against the spread overall.  Despite the stellar road record, scoring has been a bit harder to come by in those games.  The Lakers have only hit the Over in two of their 14 road games.

The Nuggets have struggled against L.A.  Denver has lost eight of their last 10 games against the Lakers.  For the season, the Nuggets are 11-14 ATS and have hit the Over in 17 of 25 games.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers have been heating up lately and sit one game back of Utah for the Western Conference lead.  L.A. has won seven straight games, including a 115-105 decision over Memphis on Friday.  Anthony Davis had a game-high 35 points to go along with nine rebounds.  LeBron James had 28 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Davis has been a force this season.  AD is averaging 22.9 points per game.  He also leads the Lakers in rebounds (8.6), steals (1.4) and blocks (1.9).

At the age of 36, James has still not slowed down.  James has put up at least 15 points, five rebounds and five assists in every game he has played this season.  He leads the Lakers in points per game (25.6) and assists (7.9).

Denver Nuggets

Denver has been inconsistent this year, but is trending in the right direction.  The Nuggets have won two straight games with a 133-95 blowout over the Cavaliers on Wednesday, before squeaking by the Thunder 97-95 on Friday.  Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray each had a game-high 22 points against OKC.

Jokic is having an MVP-caliber season and leads the Nuggets in every major statistical category.  Jokic leads the team in points per game (26.7), rebounds (11.3), assists (8.6), steals (1.6) and field goal percentage (56.7).

Perhaps sliding under the radar a bit with Jokic on the team, Murray has also had a big year.  Murray averages 18.3 points per game, 4.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists.  He is very difficult to contain, as he can make shots from anywhere on the floor.
