Lakers vs. Heat Game 6 Prediction: NBA Finals Odds, Point Spread
After the Heat came away from Game 5 with a 111-108 win to stay alive, the Lakers have shrunk to five-point favourites for Sunday’s Game 6, a testament to how dangerous Butler has been in this series. The total for Game 6 opened at 214.5.
NBA Finals Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Miami has kept this series closer than most experts thought and are 4-1 against the spread in this series. Despite the playoffs being played in the Orlando bubble, the Heat are technically the home team for Game 6 and the under in Miami’s last five games as home underdogs of 5 to 10.5 points is 4-0-1.
The Lakers have struggled to cover in this series, going 1-4 ATS.
The under is 7-3 in the last 10 games between these teams.
Los Angeles Lakers
It is no surprise LeBron James and Anthony Davis carried the offense for the Lakers in Game 5. LeBron had a game-high 40 points and AD added 28, with the two superstars accounting for 81 per cent of the Lakers points on Friday. The main concern for L.A. right now is the health of Davis. He was noticeably limping throughout the game after re-aggravating a heel injury suffered against Denver in the Western Conference final. He is listed as good to go for Game 6, but you have to wonder how much his heel affected him in Game 5 and how it will feel on Sunday after such a short layoff between games.
Miami Heat
Jimmy Butler can control this series when he wants to and he proved it with 35 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in Game 5, despite being guarded by superstar Anthony Davis for most of the game. Butler is now only the second player ever, after LeBron James, to record multiple 30-point triple-doubles in the same NBA finals. Undrafted second-year forward Duncan Robinson has also come up clutch and provided crucial secondary scoring, adding 26 points and five rebounds in Game 5.
