Toronto native Tristan Thompson and the Sacramento Kings make their lone visit of the season to Scotiabank Arena on Monday.

The Raptors are 4.5-point favourites to win on the NBA odds.

Kings vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

Back when the Raptors visited Sacramento on Nov. 19 and we previewed that game, this line was included about the struggling Kings: “This writer’s guess is that Coach Luke Walton has this four-game homestand to show something or he’s fired before a Nov. 26 trip to the Lakers.”

Sacramento was beaten handily by Toronto 108-89 and then the next night was routed again by Utah, and that was it for Walton as he was fired. Assistant coach Alvin Gentry will finish out the season in an interim role and could earn the full-time job if the team plays well enough.

Pascal Siakam led the Dinos with 32 points in the first meeting on 10-for-12 shooting. Gary Trent Jr. had 23 points. Chris Boucher added 10 points and 12 boards off the bench. No Kings player scored more than the 17 points by De’Aaron Fox. Toronto native Tristan Thompson was scoreless in nine minutes off the bench.

Sacramento leads the all-time series 27-23 but is 10-15 as the road team. Toronto is 6-2-1 against the spread in the past nine.

Sacramento Kings

The Kings enter on a two-game skid following a 117-103 loss in Cleveland on Saturday. Sacramento allowed a whopping 81 first-half points and it was over. The team is now 5-5 under interim coach Alvin Gentry. Marvin Bagley, a bust as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, hadn’t even been playing under Walton but has seen minutes under Gentry and even started Saturday’s game, although he was minus-22 in 22 minutes so that may not last. Buddy Hield, who could be traded by the deadline, led with 21 points off the bench. Centre Richaun Holmes (14.0 ppg, 9.3 rpg) had a procedure to repair a right eye laceration last Thursday and didn’t play over the weekend. He’s not expected to Monday, either. The Kings are 3-8 ATS in their past 11 following a loss.

Toronto Raptors

This concludes a seven-game homestand for Toronto, which is 3-3 so far, following a 90-87 victory over the Knicks on Friday. Gary Trent Jr. had 24 points, Fred VanVleet 17 points and 11 assists, and rookie Scottie Barnes (+295 to win Rookie of the Year) 12 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. Precious Achiuwa missed another game – he had missed two with a shoulder injury and then landed in COVID protocols so he won’t play all week. Chris Boucher has played well starting in his spot and had 14 points and eight rebounds vs. the Knicks. OG Anunoby and Khem Birch remain out injured. The Raptors are 1-5 ATS in their past six following an ATS victory.
