Nuggets vs. Jazz Game 7 Prediction: NBA Odds, Point Spread
The Denver Nuggets have been on fire lately, coming back from a 3-1 series deficit to force a deciding Game 7. The Utah Jazz seemed to be in full control of the series after rattling off three straight victories to go up 3-1 but the Nuggets have battled back, winning the last two games behind explosive performances by point guard Jamal Murray. The battle between Donovan Mitchell and Jamal Murray has been the most exciting storyline in basketball so far in the postseason and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to slow down in Game 7.
NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis
The over is 5-0 in the Nuggets last five games following a straight up victory over their opponent. It is also 6-1 in their last seven games against a team with a winning straight up record.
For the Jazz, the over is 6-1 in their last seven games following an ATS loss and 10-2 in their last 12 games overall. The Jazz are also 2-9 ATS in their last 11 matchups against the Nuggets.
Utah Jazz
Utah has now officially lost their advantage in the series and are tied at 3-3 heading into a pivotal Game 7. They have lost their last two matchups against the Nuggets but that isn’t due to Mitchell. He averages a league high scoring average in this year’s postseason at a staggering 37.6 points per game and has been doing his best to bring his team past the first round. In Game 6, he was able to score 44 points and hit nine threes. Meanwhile, other key players such as Rudy Gobert and Jordan Clarkson were held to 11 points each.
Mitchell will have to keep up his high scoring and efficiency in Game 7 if this team wants to advance to the next round. Outside of Mitchell, role players will also have to show up ready to play and be able to hit their shots as well as limit mistakes. Gobert averages 20.0 points per game in the Jazz’s three wins and 13.0 in the losses. Clarkson is the same, averaging 20.3 points per game in the wins and 15.3 in the losses. They will need a team effort to get this done.
Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets are now in prime position to do something that very few teams have ever been able to accomplish and that is coming back from down 3-1 and winning the series. They are coming off of two incredibly good performances as a team and are being willed to victory by Murray, who scored 50 points in Game 6. He is a man possessed, averaging 47.3 points per game over his last three. He didn’t do it alone in Game 6 as Nikola Jokic had 22 points to go along with nine assists and Jerami Grant added 18 points. The Nuggets also got Gary Harris back in Game 6 after he missed every game in the restart with a right hip muscle strain. He was only able to score four points in the contest but getting another offensive weapon back adds to the already dynamic Nuggets offense.
The big difference has been the Nuggets defense. They’ve held the Jazz to 107 points in each of the last two games after allowing them to hit 124 or more every other time. If they can slow them down one more time, they’ll advance.
