The Grizzlies completed an epic comeback for the second time in this series while tallying a 111-109 victory in Game 5 to claim a 3-2 series lead. Tuesday’s loss was particularly demoralizing for the T-Wolves, who have never claimed victory in playoff action when trailing 3-2 in a series.

The Grizzlies saw the betting line in Friday’s game fade to a pick’em after opening as 1.5-point favourites on the NBA odds. However, they have since returned to their opening position at -1.5, backed by 63 per cent of sports bettors. The Grizzlies have also vaulted to heavy -714 favourites on the NBA playoff series prices. Conversely, the Timberwolves have dipped to +101 underdogs on the Game 6 odds, and lag as massive +502 longshots to eventually win this series in seven games. The total dipped to as low as 228 before returning to its opening position at 229.

Grizzlies vs. Timberwolves NBA Playoffs Betting Odds

Friday night’s matchup at Target Center marks the 10th time these two clubs have faced each other this season. In addition to posting three wins in this series, the Grizzlies also took three of four from the T-Wolves during the regular season. However, they have tallied just one victory in four overall visits to Minnesota. Home teams have fared well in head-to-head play, earning the win in seven of the past nine. And while these two clubs were tops in the NBA in scoring during the regular season, the UNDER has paid out in five of seven dates, including each of the Grizzlies’ three wins in this series.

The Grizzlies still have work to do to snap a three-game losing streak in Game 6 situations, all of which led to playoff series losses. Memphis has lost 10 of 13 postseason road games overall, and covered just twice in their past five playoff contests while favoured by three or fewer points. The T-Wolves return home looking to post their first ever win in a Game 6 matchup. The contest also marks the first time the club has played a Game 6 on home court. Overall, Minnesota has produced middling results at home, going 4-4 in their past eight, but has claimed the outright win in four of six playoff contests while pegged as a home underdog.

Memphis Grizzlies

Ja Morant provided the spark for the Grizzlies’ sensational comeback in Game 6. With Memphis trailing by as many as 13 points in the fourth quarter, Morant embarked on an impressive run, racking up 18 points in the final frame, including the team’s final 11 points of the night to seal the victory. Morant has now averaged 22.4 points per game in the series, and tallied double-doubles in each of the past four contests.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Karl-Anthony Towns powered the T-Wolves attack with 28 points and 12 boards. However, he failed to live up to expectation created by his on-court trash talk, draining just nine points during Minnesota’s fourth-quarter meltdown. Indeed, Towns will need to rise the occasion on Friday if Minnesota has any hope of extending this series.
