The NBA odds will depend on a few injuries and whether any key players rest – which seems likely for the Dinos.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

Memphis is going to reach the play-in tournament in the Western Conference and could be an NBA title contender down the road with a core group of Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and former Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas. The team also has two good players from Canada in Dillon Brooks (played at Oregon) and Brandon Clarke (Gonzaga).

On Feb. 8 in Memphis, the Raptors knocked off the Grizzlies 128-113. Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam each scored 32 points. The Dinos outscored Memphis 34-16 in the fourth quarter – they seemed to be energized when Coach Nick Nurse was ejected in the third quarter. Kyle Lowry left in the first half with bask spams.

Valanciunas led Memphis with 27 points and 20 rebounds, while Brooks had 22 points. Morant, the former NBA Rookie of the Year, was just 5-for-17 from the field for 18 points. He’s one of the most exciting players in the league, though.

Toronto is 9-1 straight up and against the spread in the past 10 meetings. The SU loss was in January 2017 in Memphis.

Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis is 1-1 on a three-game road trip and right at .500 on the season at 33-33. The Grizz were upset Thursday at tanking Detroit, 111-97, in the second of a back-to-back. The Grizzlies clearly looked tired the night after a barn-burner in Minnesota. Ja Morant led Memphis with 20 points, and Jonas Valanciunas added 19 points and 16 rebounds. He’s third in the NBA in rebounding at 12.3 per game and that average would be a franchise record. Grayson Allen and Xavier Tillman were out and both are questionable here.

Raptors guard Kyle Lowry was selected by Memphis with the 24th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft.

Toronto Raptors

It’s almost as if the Raptors didn’t want to make the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. They faced an absolute must-win game in Tampa on Thursday vs. Washington already without the injured OG Anunoby and Chris Boucher then actually rested Kyle Lowry. In a must-win game. Toronto was up 13 in the third quarter but lost 131-129 in overtime to essentially ends its season from a playoff standpoint.

Pascal Siakam matched his career high with 44 points (along with 11 rebounds and seven assists) for the Raptors but missed a long three-pointer at the end of OT. Gary Trent Jr. returned from a six-game injury absence and had 25 points. Yuta Watanabe went from probable to ruled out with an ankle injury. The Wizards had lost nine in a row in the series.
